But first, read your history books real well. Admiral Yamamoto said he would run rampant for 6 months and after he bombed Pearl Harbor he said he had awakened a ‘sleeping giant’.

A loss of 2 aircraft carriers and 10,000 lives is not - respeat not going to break Ameraca’s spirit to fight back - and we will. We have fought Indians, terrorists, dictators, Britain, France, Spain, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Japan, & Iraq and even ourselves.

Where in America’s history have we took shit off anyone and laid down without a fight?

Keep in mind, the North might have beaten the South in our Civil War, but it took the industrialized North with a blockade, a vast amount of resources and superior weapons 4 long years to beat a “bunch of backwards ass farmers”.

America loves to fight. It’s in our DNA. Our country was built on blood, sweat, and tears. You’re talk is cheap and dangerous if you think we will turn fucking tail and run away after taking a ‘loss’ of two aircraft carriers and 10,000 lives.

Cool story, bro.

Not to mention kicking Chinese ass in Korea in the early 1950's, even though it was with our hands figuratively tied.

yeah, but roosevelt was a capable leader who listened to his generals. trump is not that. not even a little bit.

they nearly pushed us off the peninsula, son.

and they'd only just finished fighting a civil war and were fighting with borrowed equipment.

also, in case you didn't notice, that war wasn't actually won by anyone.

stop posting. you don't know shit.

Obviously, you're a white supremacist.

LOL clearly....

Do you honestly think the Chinese would stand much of a chance?

Seriously?

they nearly pushed us off the peninsula, son.

Well with all the advantage in the world it's pretty pathetic they didn't.

"First of all, Lou Yuan is reportedly well known as an anti-American hawk in Chinese military circles, so this sort of inflammatory rhetoric isn’t new for him. Also, he’s not really part of China’s actual military. He’s the deputy head of the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences. In other words, his title is described as being an “academic military rank” as opposed to being an actual Admiral of the line. The guy has never commanded a warship and wouldn’t be involved in the fighting he is suggesting."

What if we had a nickel for every time a redneck said "we should nuke China!"?

That was North Korea in the early stages of the war. After that, we fought our way to the Yalu River before China got involved. And we had just finished whipping the Axis, with considerable help from China and Western Europe and the USSR.

The war is in the books as a standoff, but SK took over substantial parts of what had been NK. And, if HST hadn't been such a panty-waist, there would now be only one Korea, and it would be a republic.

Actually, he told Tojo that if war came, his forces "could run wild the first year. But I can say nothing of the second or third year."

The second quote is probably apocryphal.

Oh, and when Yamamoto spoked of "dictating terms in the White House," he had no intention of actually doing it. He was trying to discourage war-fever by pointing out that the only way Japan could win a war with the United States was to conquer it -- which everyone in Japan knew was impossible.

But they bombed Pearl Harbor anyway. What were they thinking.

And we haven't had many chances lately. We the people, that is -- a professional military force, in which only minority of the population ever serves, does all the fighting.

Perhaps that frustration makes American civilians rather more hawkish than in other countries.

Yeah, I left out Korea and Vietnam. But the fact is - America doesn’t back down from a fight.

Somehow, I can't see a Sino-American war doing anybody any good, no matter how it ends or who wins. I mean, we're talking Clash of Superpowers here -- we're getting into World War territory. Since the Cold War ended, it has appeared we had put all that behind us -- there are still wars, but they're local affairs, not involving whole continents. Let's avoid that sort of thing, shall we?

Apparently, China wants to test those waters.

If they test him, they will find him wanting.

Which doesn't mean he won't nuke them.

I only hope the generals have a pact to shoot him the moment he asks for the launch codes.

If they fire on an American Carrier, just one. We’re all going to have a bad day.

You are not wrong about that.
