It'll pass. I've been shaving shaft/balls/Gooch/crack for years. First few days it feels hyper sensitive and you're aware of everything.

Including sweat.

Actually, the hair serves the purpose of helping to wick away the normal sweat. Not sure if it's still up, but there was an article in the New York Times about this very thing.
