Nooooo...they are being told, that if they show up as a family, and claim refugee status, they will get in. Children are exploited, to give them a chance at making a good living, something that is rough to do in Honduras, (I've been there for business), and to start the exploitation of chain migration.
That's, generally, after they pay the coyotes. (No....coyotes are not big fuzzy dog looking animals with bushy tails that eat your chickens)
Furthermore....they are illegal immigrants, not just migrants. And, the fact that they are families, or children DOES NOT make them refugees.

If there really was no benefit to putting a wall anywhere I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find some border patrol agents to interview who would say, "No that's nonsense they'll just go around or over it; we don't want to wall, we just want better trucks.." or whatever but they're not finding any border patrol agents to say that because of course it's nonsense.

A wall will make their job easier not harder and it'll make the job of the coyotes harder not easier.

REFUGEES

No, just natural market forces responding to the conditions offered by Obama's illegal DACA program.

He tried to streettttcchhh that to the DAPA program to make it a better inducement but the courts slapped him down.

All politicians understand the ratchet effect. Change generally goes one way. Once you allowed the dreamers to stay illegally it's become very very difficult to reverse that program even though there is no question that that action was illegal. A year or two before you actually did it Obama pointed out that such an action was not within his authority.. Just like when we had the feet dry program for Cubans it made sense for Cubans to try to get to the Florida Shore by any method possible with the understanding that if they got their feet to the shore they were in. That's the way it is with a dreamer program: you bring a kid, get the kid across the border and you now have an anchor to come yourself.

You're taking a set of facts and jumping to conclusion that is not bolstered by those facts. The facts that would bolster your conclusion would be the number of Asylum claims that are actually granted and those are miniscule. So it has nothing to do with Refugee status and everything to do with the attractant of the dreamer program which was what intended by that program.

It also led to more deaths for children and more unaccompanied minors.

As it is I somewhat agree with you the Republicans gave away the store they continued all of Obama's spending and added some of their own on top of that coupled with tax breaks. It was grossly irresponsible.

What's another 5 billion among friends? If they cared at all they should have included it and shut down the government if they didn't get it. Which is what Trump is finally doing and he should basically leave it shut down forever until he gets it, just on general principles. The Democrats have been promising border security since Reagan and foiling any efforts to get it.
