Anger and hatred cannot bring harmony. The noble task of arms control and disarmament cannot be accomplished by confrontation and condemnation. Hostile attitudes only serve to heat up the situation, whereas a true sense of respect gradually cools down what otherwise could become explosive. We must recognize the frequent contradictions between short-term benefit and long-term harm.

Morning folks. Sunny and warm here. Might be going to the zoo this AM. Get to find out how many 'favorite' animals the youngest grand-daughter has.:)

Wouldn't wager against it Wat. It's going to be a test of whether I can keep up before she's tapped her energy reserves. :)

My day has started amazingly!

And I haven't been to a zoo in a long time either, that needs to go on the agenda for some month in the near summer. Just a word of advice, once you find out her favourite find it as a stuffed toy and give it to her, it will make her really happy that you remembered.

Since we're talking cooking and such.

I stumbled upon an interesting (to me) article on baking biscuits. I have often wondered why my very simple recipe can't seem to be duplicated by some folks (usually Northern). Turns out the culprit may be the flour. Generations of my family have use a certain flour and the biscuits are fairly all the same, and I might add, always highly complimented. As it turns out, flour milled from hard wheat is not conducive to good biscuits; great for yeast breads, however. So, for a beautifully textured, big ole cat head biscuit, get yourself some soft wheat flour. Down here we call it "Cake flour" and until I read this article, I didn't know why, I just knew Gran was an outstanding cook, so only a fool would have questioned her methods.

I was just reading that as well. Amazon charging like $12 for it.

You know, my first thought was giraffe, and then the zebra followed along behind it. There should be plenty of stuffed zebras to choose from.

Wat got the drain open. Not sure what trick did the trick. Was thinking of going surgical, but then the sink went down-n-out, and a lot of running water behind it indicated it was truly open.

All praises to Allah, for this is a great blessing from his boundless grace and providence.

The pounding rain outside makes a nap look even more worthwhile . . . .

I was a little surprised too because all she could talk about was feeding the Giraffes. I guess Giraffes are only good for feeding but Zebra's are forever. :)

My theory is zebra is more fun to say. I could be wrong. They are cute little beasts.

Zebras are wild and free, they are nearly impossible to tame to train to ride, it's a good familiar to choose :)

The flour is one thing that is different, I find southern bread to be more like cake, it's sweet and too soft. Also ketchup here is sweet and in the south it has more vinegar, yours is better, and the list goes on. I have a hard time cooking when I'm in the south because the ingredients don't act or taste the way I think they should.

Happy Sunday!!!

If I had a bit less to do at work, and if I liked working with other people underfoot more than I do - I loathe it, actually - I'd dawdle today and leave at 0600 tomorrow morning. As it stands. I think that I'll just carry mah ass back up there this afternoon, driving while the sun is still up - mostly.

And I may be able to work a Dawn sighting in, if she'll cooperate.

At least the rain has blown out, and it's (maybe) a tad warmer. Maybe a wee bike ride could be had . . . .

Morning.

On the road myself in 30 min. or so. The timing should work out so that I'm out of the mountains about the same time the Sun is high enough not to be in my face.

"On the Road Again."

Yeah, on the road agin . . . .

It could be worse. I haz places to be and shit to do. And the weather is a vast improvement over the last three days. Don't that just figure?

Maybe there will be some b'ar roadkill like last month. But the chili is already made. I guess I'll freeze the rest of it before I split.

I need to get a bigger fridge, so I can stockpile more frozen goods, and lose more when the power is off for a couple of days . . . .

Wasn't a heater part of the "plus all standard factory equipment?"

Also, that is only $43 off.
