Note - 88 French troops died in Afghanistan. The bravery of French troops should not be questioned. The stupidity of French politicians about their military cannot be overstated. Just a few examples: 1870; Dreyfus; Verdun; the Maginot Line; and the 1940 surrender when French troops outnumbered the invading Germans.

In theory it would be good. Europe is no longer the safe place that it used to be
- But who will have the decisional power?
especially in the -inevitable- case of internal interventions when internal conflicts risk destabilizing the region?
