Brian Kemp, Secretary of State for Georgia, has tendered his resignation effective noon today. He has also declared himself the winner in Georgia's governor's race even though all the votes have yet to be counted and, since he is stepping, will not have to certify the results.

In the months leading up the election, Kemp sought out every means to suppress votes and rig the election. From sending out notices to people saying they had been purged since they hadn't vote in a while, to claiming if someone's signature on an absentee ballot didn't exactly match the one on file, their vote wouldn't count. This is on top of limiting the number of polling places in predominantly black voting districts.

Also, on Wednesday night, Kemp released the records of thousands of voters who were using absentee ballots which included their names, addresses and any medical reason for the absentee ballot including disabled or elderly.
