Any object thrown at a military force is an unknown. It is possible for that unknown object to be a grenade or IED and the appropriate response is always deadly force without waiting to determine what the thrown object is.

The fastest, shortest route to safety is through the appropriate application overwhelming firepower and extreme prejudice to neutralize the threat.

Therefore it's my personal opinion we should keep fixed wing air support on standby, because nothing says "Be Fucked" like a 2000lb JDAM. :cool:

In this instance, a couple of warthogs is more than sufficient and doesn't rick polluting the landscape with unexploded ordnance. Plus the drivers can be home for dinner. :D
 
They will replace them with a similar operational platform. Their role is too valuable to eliminate them completely.

Yea, it would be hard to replace them with rotary or multi-role fighters.

Have to have a specialized platform to take the beating, carry the ordinance and have the hang time to stay in the fight as long as possible.
