For all the bad rap kale gets, I actually like it. Fresh is good. Roasted in the oven with a little olive oil and salt is pretty fantastic as well.

That’s one thing I get excited about with fall - roasting veggies. Butternut, acorn, carrots, beets even, sweet potatoes, onions.

Broadleaf cabbage, not terrible, just depends on how its cooked.

I still remember the first time I saw someone cook up a bunch of poke salad. To this day I'll still stick by my opinion that hot bacon grease, salt and pepper and a dash of vinegar made it palatable. But good gosh what a lot of boiling and water changing to keep it from poisoning you. :rolleyes:

I like bok choy as well. Ate a ton of it in China when the local harvest took place. It was literally piled up in the stairwells for a week with the grandmothers keeping an eye on it.

The real question is... who's cooking me dinner tonight?

I grilled a bunch of chicken I marinated in sesame oil and sriacha and other shit. Do you like sesame oil? It is da bomb. I will probably put it in a flour tortilla with some other stuff and call it a burrito. That goes good with wine right?

The real question is... who's cooking me dinner tonight?

I made a classic roux thinned with milk and cheddar. Sliced tators and onions layered with diced sauted ham. Covered with the thinned roux and topped with cheese and slice tomatoes. Easy peasy au graten taters. There is some left...it was ok...needed some cayenne

Your a lot nicer than I am when I cook breakfast for folks. If there's eggs involved then they get the choice or scrambled, fried or omelets. The rest of its whatever I decided to add to the mix. They're lucky to have you and have it pretty good too. :rose:

I saw someone reference Bumfuck earlier. I grew up there, so I relish my diverse dining options in my grown-up hometown. :)
