They are using the "flash mob" technique. Someone should tap into their channel and show up with a "counter-flash mob." Should make for interesting 6 PM news.

I wonder how all of this will translate into that big blue wave.
Yes the party out of power almost always gains seats in the midterm, one of those political truisms, but another truism is that Democrats don't turn out in off years, and here they are doing everything they can to motivate Republicans to turn out to fight back...

True enough. It's the Blue Stater's and those not up for election that are mouthing off the most. Notice the silence from the Red state democrats? It's deafening.

It is being drown out by the sound of the laughter from the rest of the world at Trump and the Red Staters.
 
Claire has already announced she's voting against Kavanaugh, another nail in her coffin.
I, for one, will be voting against her. I might even pull the switch for whatever Republican is running against her. I'm tired of her, I'm a country girl, just like you people (who just happens to vote as a city girl) act.

Sen Murkowski seems to be stepping up and showing independent thinking from the rest of her party:

“We are now in a place where it’s not about whether or not Judge Kavanaugh is qualified,” Murkowski said in an interview on Monday night. “It is about whether or not a woman who has been a victim at some point in her life is to be believed.”

I still am hoping Sen Flake will just call the ball and decide the nomination stays in the committee. McConnell can still bring the thing to the floor but that would change the dynamic.
 
I think that the Kavanaugh-Ford hearing will have tens of millions of views.
I admit that I'm dying to view it.
So will all the private TV channels; their shareholders must be dreaming huge dollar signs.

On one hand you want freedom of information and of press,
On the other hand it's not quite right that private TV channels make a fortune out of these things, and none goes to the taxpayer.

These kinds of events don’t give that much benefit to the networks. First of all, they all broadcast it, often from the same feed. Second, ad blocks are unpredictable, few and far between.

It's a 51-49 Senate. Individual Republicans have an awful lot of leverage to get their way, if they choose to exercise it, but the so-called moderates, especially the terminally disingenuous Collins, keep acting as if they're powerless to affect things.

Murkowski has said she wants a full FBI investigation of the sort that Ford originally called for, but what I haven't heard her say is "I will not vote for this nominee unless there's an FBI investigation first." That would definitely get the leadership's attention, and might even delay the vote they've already called for even though they've totally not prejudged the charges against Kavanaugh.
