Three people who have spoke to Whelan and Federalist Society’s Leonard Leo in recent days say they are “100 percent confident” they’ve obtained information that will exonerate Kavanaugh -

All this is interesting, since it suggests someone with firsthand knowledge of the party — the same party no one from the Kavanaugh side of things will even admit took place — has been in contact with the White House and the Judiciary Committee. The really interesting question is if Kavanaugh himself cooked up this bizarre theory.

There's also the curious fact that the committee is simultaneously saying:

1. We haven't talked to Dr. Ford, who has been avoiding us
2. We've talked to a couple of people who were at the party who have not yet been named publicly

So how do they know who was at the party, if the only person who is even admitting that there was a party, Ford, hasn't said anything to them? Again, it leads to the suspicion that there is definitely someone or multiple someones from the pro-Kavanaugh side who do recall this party, regardless of all the denials. It would be nice to get the FBI involved here to put some folks under oath and get answers.

And like I've been saying for over a week, there's no way Kavanugh's people would have a prepared list of women who could attest to his sterling character if they weren't concerned about the need to provide such a list.

Mine is only a subjective opinion/ speculation, of course.
Such things only get clarified after months of investigations. Meanwhile, Kavanaugh needs to step away from that post until (and if) he's cleared.

Dunno, my intuition tells me that Christine Ford is telling the truth. Unlike the 'grabbed by the pussy' accusers.
And the fact that one of her former classmates wrote on FB that Christine had told them at the time about the alleged incident, makes me even more convinced.

Wrong on several accounts. The OP said they should "re-open" the background investigation. That IS "what they do"-- background checks. New information has appeared, therefore, re-open the background check and complete it. If that means doing a 7th one, so be it.

She isn't filing a formal criminal complaint, as a matter of fact. She's not asking for a criminal investigation, just a routine background check. Maryland has reported no criminal complaint. If Ford wanted to file one, that's what she would do. She hasn't. She's asking for the same FACT-FINDING investigation that was done for Anita Hill.

The FBI has not "declined" doing an investigation. They have followed standard procedure. They forward this info onto the WH. If the WH wants a follow-up, they tell the FBI to do it.

The FBI has not "declined" a criminal investigation because none has been asked for by the accuser or anyone else.
