God, how I wish the crew would STOP farting around

Seems to me that only a fool would stick with something they hate so much  I'd advise anyone who is miserable here, or feel they are being used, to just pack it up and split for their own peace of mind. There's so much content on this site that no one author should think they are invaluable, indispensable or irreplaceable...after all, it's just porn and there's no shortage of that

expanding on the above:

No one forced you to post on Lit. Not your first story, not your 10th, not your hundredth or your latest. If you’ve posted more than one story, then you obviously received some gratification from doing so. That is your reward. If you’re expecting any more, then you happen to be an idiot.

No one is forcing anyone to post on the discussion boards. If it is a burden, then just stop. No one will care. In addition, they probably don’t want your two cents, anyway. You really don’t need to reply to every post, especially if you feel it is information that’s already been discussed. Just let the newer people who aren’t tired of the subject respond since the situation might be a new one for them, too.

You are a guest here. Act like a guest. You don’t pay to post stories or read stories, you don’t pay to use the discussion board. If you don’t like it here, go somewhere else. Problem solved. I have never seen a posting from the administrators begging anyone to post more, or not to go away, for that matter. So, one can assume that you’re here because there is something positive in it for you.

If you don’t like the newbies, the oldies or anyone fucking else, put them on ignore. Don’t read their posts. Above all, don’t engage with them. You don’t have anything to post that is profound anyway, you wind up looking like a whiny idiot when you bitch and moan because not everyone is posting what you want to read.

Just because you’ve been a member since 1901, that doesn’t mean you’re special. It means you have a lot of time to waste. If you’re going to crow about the glories of the past and your role in them, then you need to accept your current role. It doesn’t make much sense to brag about all you’ve done to build the place up and then in the next sentence decry what a shithole it has become. You’re still here, maybe that’s the reason.

If you can’t get the administrators to respond to your demands, there’s probably a reason for that…they’re just a sick and tired as the rest of us of your constant whining. They probably have you blocked so they won’t have to deal with you. A website this size generates huge amounts of mail into their boxes and even though YOUR message is the most special, they’re probably tired of reading it every other day.

No one really cares who used to use what name. No one cares because no one on here is that interesting in the first place. On here, you’re a bunch of black characters on a white background and that’s the extent of it. Trying to track down who insulted you in 1997 and make them admit it is beyond boring. And no one gives a fuck anyway except maybe you who are still suffering, so suck it up.

Courtesy matters but not much. One of the sayings I was brought up on was “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”. Of course, that’s not how the internet works but at least come up with some new and inventive insults. We’ve all heard it before.

If you don’t like what I’ve written, feel free to put me on ignore. It will make a better experience here for both of us. Also, please be aware that i'm an old person and therefore your response will not shock, amaze or even interest me much.

Also, a master of comic timing. Groucho Marx couldn't have said it better, I laughed till I stopped. Carry on, sir :).

I think we're all aware of the love you have for the old control panel. ..... What are you going to do when they shut it down?

In my case, panic and run around in little circles squawking coz I love that old control panel. I'm a luddite! Sort of.

As I've noted, those who are having trouble with the new panel might open up the old panel. It seems to be working fine. ;)

The new control panel gives you much more information than the old one.

Like the total followers you have, plus the number of readers that voted, and stuff like that.

It does. I'm slowly getting used to it. I'm not big on technology. My laptop is 8 years old and I have an old version of Word on it from the dawn of the Neolithic. I'm technology-resistant.

Pilgrim's Progress was written with a quill pen and is a masterpiece centuries later. The National Examiner is put together using the latest in computer technology and comes wrapped every edition in fish. Ergo, tech or lack of it is not an issue if one has talent.

Curtsy for your fans, Chloe. :rose:

My desktop was made in 2009, it's 9 years old. I did get a new case for it as the number of disk drives I have out grew the small ATX minicase I had. It does run Windows 7 though, it came with Vista Home Preminum. It is a Dell Studio XPS with one of the first I7 Processors. It's still running strong although the power supply does need replacing. It will only power two of the disk drives I have.

As for the new control panel, I have found it far easier to use than the old one. They have made one change so far that I like, they list all the stories on a single scroll-able page instead of having x number of page to click through.
