God, how I wish the crew would STOP farting around

I don't know but now one of my stories is gone.

Over night one of my stories just vanished and my activity page is inop. This is so damn aggravating.

I wonder if that's the only platform things are working on. Is anyone else not having the problems?

I haven't discerned any problems with the old page. I don't know what additional nifty information the new page provides authors, but I have too many stories to need anything but what the old page gave me already because I don't do a lot of manipulation with what I had posted in the past.

So far the only problem I have found on the any of the new control panel is that the sort for comments and favorites doesn't sort properly.

Everything else is working fine for me. Activity, all pages. Works, all pages, etc.

Currently on a Windows 10 system with a 64 bit Firefox(PaleMoon) open source browser.

My homepage is blank. It tells me to post a story. I have 181 stories on Literotica. Everytime they make and upgrade, something doesn't work.

Now one of my stories is missing...ugh!

I had 42 stories published here when I went to bed last night, now I have 41? This really is getting ridiculous.

Bitching ain't going to get you anywhere except for an ulcer. Everyone is having the same problems so give it a rest already.

That's not a control panel issue, because your public profile says 41.

Someone must have reported something and Laurel pulled it. Check your "Sent Back" tab on the "Works" page.

Though nobody's currently reporting issues with that section, if the Works page isn't working for you, then you can also scroll down your works on the old panel, looking for one where it now says rejected instead of accepted.

"All Activity" and "Works Activity" started working for me again sometime in the last hour or so. I still can't sort the story list on Comments or Favorites, but that's not so much of a problem.

this thread pretty much typifies the attitude of a lot of the users on here (not all). bitch, bitch, bitch for YEARS about what doesn't work right, then piss and moan when attempts are made to upgrade. jesus, give it a rest or demand your membership fee be returned.

What many of us bitch about doesn't require an upgrade; it just requires a cleanup and not leaving it to the users to explain what just doesn't work because it hasn't been cleaned up or the administrators don't make clear how to reach them by means they actually monitor.

It was working this morning on both IOS and Windows 10. Now, just on IOS. Let the accusations commence.

Well, it’s not really an issue, I mean, there aren’t any random spam comments appearing on the new stories when they’re posted, right? It’s kind like a cause and effect scenario now. The spam was a cause and the site’s response is an effect of what was done to solve the original issue. So, no complaints will come from me. 🌹Kant👠👠👠

Quite so. I can live with this adjustment period. The spam was getting truly annoying.

I've been reading this latest gripe session and was going to to say something like this...you said it well, so I'll just say; Ditto.

I will add this though; I've been a member of this site since 2007. I've never had to pay a penny to use it and have had many hours of enjoyment. I have several malware/ad-block/script filters on my computer and this sight has never inundated me with that kind of behind the scenes money makers. In short, I have never once had any problems with the owners or the way they run this place. :)

If you refresh the page, the missing story reappears. It’s no big deal. The one story that disappears from mine is the most recent story I posted about a month ago. As I said, refreshing the page allows it to become visible again. 🌹Kant👠👠👠

I'll add one bit to this bitch session.

This site is worth every damn penny I've ever paid to be here.

That varies by writer with how many stories they have contributed to the Web site without charge. Stories are the Web site's raw material for making the product that it makes money off of. Sponsors wouldn't support a Web site that had no product. Most businesses have to pay for the raw materials of their products.

Plus some users are working for free for the Web site, helping to guide other users through broken features and a system of connecting with the Web site administrators that only works in one form--not in all the forms the Web site still claims work but don't and haven't been cleaned up. Of course if you don't bother to help other users navigate the Web site, you, of course, aren't giving any services that would be worth something from an employee. Some are, though. Time and effort are money.

So, sure, if you're sucking far more off the Web site than you are giving to it, it's worth every damn thing you're not contributing to the product and profit of the site.

Well, good points all, but looking st it for myself, I think I get a good return on the stories I've written and posted here. I've gotten
- really good writing experience writing for real readers who aren't slow to point out flaws, mistakes and stupid errors
- a really good reader base that's growing all the time and is carrying over into markets that actually pay
- a publisher, albeit small, indie and ebook only but that's better than self publishing imho.
- some very interesting online friends here and online
- a great volunteer editor who I don't take advantage of nearly enough

All in all for me I think there's been some really tangible benefits

That's fine but those who put down writers providing the product for this business and giving navigation support to users of the board on features that are broken and haven't been cleaned up for decades for complaining about playing around with new broken features rather than cleaning up the site can stick it where the sun don't shine--a lot of them do little or nothing to justify themselves being here, so of course they are happy taking "whatever" for free.

It's just possible they'd think otherwise if they'd informed a new user for the 320th time in a dozen years that no form of messaging gets opened by the Web site administrators but PMs. Those who do aren't getting favors for free here.

As I've noted, as far as I can determine the old control panel is working as well as an author needs for it to be working.

I think we're all aware of the love you have for the old control panel. As much as you complain about the site, you seem to be married to that feature.

What are you going to do when they shut it down?

Why do you want to know? So you can start composing your backbiting now? ;)

What I find amusing is all of the statistics some of you think you need to have to husband your story collections, like they're some sort of rare jewel.

Everything Chloe said and one more...

I get to poke the trolls with a stick every time I post a new story to Loving Wives with comments and voting turned off.

And it's all FREE! :nana::nana::nana::nana::nana:
