if you could pick one novel to reread while curled up in bed on a lazy rainy Sunday, what would it be?

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Klay by Michael Chabon

If you could see one novel turned into a film or tv series what would it be?

It would be Last Call by Tim Powers.....great story that includes ancient myths, chaos theory and a poker game with Tarot cards.

Is there a particular movie whose ending you'd change?

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Klay by Michael Chabon

If you could see one novel turned into a film or tv series what would it be?

The Mirror of Her Dreams by Stephen Donaldson (have wanted this to be made for year but Hollywood would screw it up)

If you had to say the worst Hollywood adaptation you have seen is, what would it be?

The Dark Tower.

The best adaptation?

The Yiddish Policeman’s Union.

What was the worse adaptation of a novel to film?

The Dark Tower.

The best adaptation?

For the most part The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Never thought it could be done with any sense of truth to the novels but other than a few minor changes Peter pulled it off beautifully. That opening scene with Frodo in reading under the trees......immediately transported to The Shire from the onset.

Great movie that you wish had a novel or novels to reference?

The Great Train Robbery (1978) Like watching the book.
(Great novels never adapt to film)

What is your favorite short story?

(GOT AHEAD OF MYSELF, 10,000 gomens)

Not typically, mostly shy. Usually a dimpled smile is what you'll get.

Do you enjoy large gatherings or intimate ones?

Intimate. Unless I can sit far away and observe a large gathering without getting involved.

Do people fascinate you?

YES, but I'm terribly self-conscious dancing in public.

Can you dance? I mean really dance, not just sway.

With a strong partner, yes. And otherwise? So I've been told.

Are you capable of distancing yourself from yourself and evaluating your actions/thoughts relatively objectively?

Yes unless I am truly infuriated which is rare. In those instances I just shut up and promise myself I will think about it later before I say something I am unable to take back.

Are you able to take constructive criticism?

Most of the time, yes. About some issues, it's a bit trickier. Detachment has been a useful skill to aquire.

Do you contemplate your life's purpose?

Sort of comes with the job description that I do!

I don't believe in 'life's purpose' -- aside from being a good, compassionate, caring person.

Is the term 'brutally honest'* just a disguise to be rude?

*(yes, I realise in some instances it warrants it; we all know I am not referring to those instances)

Yes, I think it is often used as a cudgel, especially when people using it don't seem to have other tools to use.

Do you think too many people romanticize the past?
