I recommend A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. Just a wonderful read about the most charming man making the best of his declining circumstances.

Recently read through it on a suggestion and loved it. A war perspective from the German point of view, interesting and written with feeling. Maybe not as good as Killer Angels or With the Old Breed but up there. Highly Recommended
