But some people aren't here for those types of connections. Even if they are, maybe not with you. Lit is an escape for some, exploration for others. Plus, the real world intrudes a lot. Finally, they may just not know what to say, especially if they don't reciprocate the feelings.

It happens to me with depressing regularity. It's not difficult to say " Thanks, but no thanks" is it?
It's not surprising considering that women probably get bombarded with messages from guys. Some may simply not have time to sort through them. Others may not want to chat with anyone at all. What perplexes me is when their profile says "PM me" and then they don't respond...
