If it is still shown as 'Pending' that's pretty long to wait. If it's shown as 'Draft' then you haven't actually submitted it yet.

Normal turnaround is 2-3 days, but waits of a week aren't unheard of. Also, first stories often take longer to post.

Did you copy/paste onto the text or submit Word?

Did you click 'preview' and then 'submit' ?

After submitting, did you go back and tinker with it?

those are the usual things which people encounter. Otherwise it normally takes about 3 days.

New writer question

How long does it typically take to get a story published here? I submitted one a week ago and its still not up yet. Anything?

I submitted a word document, i did not copy/paste to the text field. Im uncertain if i previewed or not... I did delete the ooriginal and resubmitted an edited version the same day. Im not sure if my status is "pending" or not... Ill go check.

I jist checked, and my post has been pending since 7/17.

I wish stories were posted as fast as a thread goes live to be read. That would be awesome

For me, usually 2-3 days. But this does not count weekends.

Usually 2-3 days for established writers, longer for newbies. Your first stories will be read more closely to ensure content complies with site policy. During contests it usually takes longer (contest entries take priority). Illustrated and audio stories are batched maybe once a fortnight, even longer, because they take more processing. Other than that, I've not seen any category take precedence over another.

A week is not unexpected for a new writer, but if it runs much longer, send a PM to Laurel, politely asking for status. She is the site editor, and vetts all content.

I thought you were an expert on delayed gratification... :)

Hahaha....yeah, I can tell you’ve read my newest chapter for “Best Friends Forever”🌹 honestly, though, I would have guessed most of my readers would have said I’m an expert in “cliffhangers” 😇, but I like the delayed gratification thingy, too💋

I dont know who laurel is or how to message them. Im sorry im so ignorant. My title is truthful in calling me a virgin...

Laurel is the sole submissions editor on the site (and an owner of the site). To reach her, use the Private Message (PM) system at the upper right of this page. The account name is just "Laurel."
