Time to be published?

I submitted a story over a week ago, and I have heard nothing from Literotica.
In the past my stories were published in 3 or 4 days.
Is this delay normal?

Things are moving slow right now. I've noticed very little story activity hitting my control panel home when I normally see a dozen or more from all the authors that I follow.

My first stories on Lit were approved and published within 3 days. Hellos, Goodbyes and Fireflies, one of my more recent ones, was approved and published after 3+ weeks.

A few days ago I submitted Side by Side, which was approved within hours (never seen such a fast turnaround time) but scheduled for two days later.

I write in Lesbian Sex.

Still can't get my head around the publishing timelines. I understand that contests and challenges may have priority, but still, there has to be more to it.

Once you submit a few stories that go through without issues, you seem to gain a flag in the system that makes your subsequent submission get faster treatment.

Mine practically always get approved within 24-48h. The most recent one got stamped within literally three hours, although it was scheduled for 2+ days ahead (likely to lighten the load on the I/T category).

I have been trying different categories recently and they all seem to be posted two days after approval, no matter what category. Exception for the recent special events, of course.

My story is in 'Celebrities and Fan fiction'. Is that normally a slow category?
It has a some extra rules that might require closer scrutiny from the editor (no non-con with actual celebs, certain properties with lots of minors are disallowed, and so forth). It probably doesn't make a huge difference most of the time, though. There just seems to be a very high volume of stories submitted lately, which is probably the main reason for delays.

They even seem to regard reluctant consent as non-consent. If the celebrity character has to be persuaded, they consider that non-con. I ran into this with on story, which is more extensive elsehwere.

That's why I save my fanfics for fanfic sites. Nothing I've written would fly here.

That’s probably a big factor. There’s been at least three author challenges in close proximity; there is an official contest coming up; and another official contest follows only a month after, so some people are already submitting entries to that one (LOL! Freaks!).

All in all, it’s a pretty busy season.

Where do they post information about 'Contests'?

By the way, my Celebrity story is definitely consensual. The events happen at the instigation of the celebrity, and she directs the whole scene.
