I am curious to get everyone's thoughts on this. If the press is "The enemy of the people" what would be the solution to this problem you'd propose?

There's a succession plan in place. Not wild about those in line, but the immediate solution needed for all sorts of reasons is to get Donald Trump out of the White House (and I don't mean to one of his golf clubs).

The last time we were in a quite similar position, when the Nixon government was trying to suppress the publication of the Pentagon Papers, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, in the majority opinion in New York Times Co. v. United States (1971), wrote the following: "The press was to serve the governed, not the governors."

That's essentially where we are again.

Personally I agree, but that's not what this thread is for.

Maybe I phrased the question wrong in the first post. I'm asking if Trump is right and the press is "The enemy of the people" what would the actions taken to solve the problem be? Which of those actions you'd be ok with and which would cross the redline for you?

50 years ago Tampa had 5 daily papers and a dozen weeklies. Now one daily is all there is. The lone daily closed all its satellite plants and newsrooms. No winos selling papers out on the streets.
