The largest trade war in economic history

It’s pretty fun when self proclaimed free traders say tariffs don’t matter. It’s not funny when farmers take it up the ass from the guy they elected. No, wait a minute, that is funny.🤪

Soy Boy is worried about the cost of his soy.

What makes you not give a shit about the losses of one industry (US soybean agra) but flip your shit over the losses of another (US automobile manufacturers)?

Most of those opining in this area have no fucking clue what they're talking about.

it doesn't make a hill of beans if China or any of the other nations who are jumping on the bandwagon add MORE tariff's to US products they ALREADY tariff sky high.

Does anyone really think that Canada increasing their tariff on US dairy products from 285% to 300% will affect the amount of US dairy products that we're exporting to Canada?

China's new tariff's are the same sort of sleight of hand. They're tariffing US exported SUV's which China doesn't allow to be imported in great numbers anyway.

Big fucking deal. But the pundits, and morons who listen to them and believe every word they say, think that it's the end of the economic world.

Tell that to the farmers, dipshit.

I think most people will listen to you or read your posts without all that extraness.

It gets real tiring after a while.

Cunt this, nigger that, spic this, funny how you never use obscene words for whites or Jews, dude, at least be an equal opportunity offender.

Sometimes you have to master the art of subtlety.

Put the racist shit stick on iggy and move on.

That's because they already take it up the ass so hard the rest of us have to take some of it to keep them afloat.

It's already a loosing industry.......putting the shit out of it's misery and pulling the Chinese dick out of it's ass isn't funny.

Watching the USA hating left cry about it like the sky is falling over a largely irrelevant to them industry and people they fucking hate however, is funny.

Besides, if any of those soy farmers are worth their weight in shit they are already farming more than just 1 crop and will adapt and grow something else. Easy as getting online and ordering seeds.

IDK shit about the auto industry except Toyotas are the shit.......can't be flushed.

Timmeh, try peddling your fever dreams to Murican soybean farmers. China imports over half of the entire US soybean crop. They've just placed a 25% tariff on all soybean imports today.

The average soybean farmer has a profit margin of 8 to 10%. The new tariff effectively reduces their profit margin to zero.

Going to see quite a "hill of beans" here in Murica quite soon as soybeans rot in their silos.

And China knows exactly what they are doing: the average soybean farmer in Murica's breadbasket is a big Trump supporter. China is hitting Trump right in his core demographic.

By all means, though, keep insistin' like Trump that trade wars are eazy and kewl.

The tariff's may actually increase their profit margins in the long run. Not immediately, but in the long run it might.

Think of it this way, China imports US soybeans because they can't grow enough for domestic use - personal consumption as well as animal feed. Placing a tariff on that one product means what exactly?

Well, for 1 thing, it means that basic food prices will increase for Chinese citizens.

For another it means that animal feed costs will increase and that means Chinese citizens will pay more for meats like pork. Which is another increase in food prices for Chinese people.

China can't get enough soybeans from other sources that the US soybean trade will be harmed to any great extent either. Nearly 50% of their soybean imports are from the US.

So, what's the upshot after all the handwringing is done?

China will continue to import US soybeans but the prices will rise. The rise won't be equal to the tariff, it will be higher to make up for this years losses on additional import duties. Nor will it go down to pre-tariff levels once the tariff's are lifted.

You, and the rest of the world, don't understand that the US doesn't NEED foreign trade as much as they need our goods and money. The world has become dependent upon the US almost giving away its natural resources and marketable goods. THEIR economies will HURT while ours will dip and then stabilize.

And China thinks it's 1.4 BILLION people can weather a food shortage easier than we can when WE are the ones with the food and they have little to eat. China's tariff's are stupid and only the dumbest of the dumb think otherwise.

Media narrative that Trump is wrong on the China trade war is at odds with reality

CNBC’s Jim Cramer said Friday that many Americans support President Donald Trump’s trade war with China, but contended that their voices are being drowned out.

“We simply, as a people, seem to be united that the president's position is wrong. I hear more of that on TV than I hear reality. I think that there are a lot of people [who say], ‘Thank you for standing up for us,’” Cramer said on CNBC.

Cramer, the host of “Mad Money,” contended the time is right for the president to engage China on trade because the U.S. economy is so strong.

When will America stop abusing other countries?

Deflection. All countries "interfere" with other nations, pointing the finger at the US while not doing so for ALL the other nations is hypocritical. Using such an argument in a discussion about trade tariff's is ignorant because it seeks to make it appear that the US is the bully while everyone else is nothing more than a victim of US aggression.

That whole narrative is a lie.

What trade war? Markets shrug off US-China dueling tariffs
Trade war? What trade war? Wall Street shrugged off the escalation of a trade dispute between the world's two largest economies Friday after the U.S. imposed tariffs on billions in Chinese goods and China responded in kind.

If the world needs your products more than you need theirs, how come you have a trade deficit? That's what the argument is all about. Tariffs will simply increase US prices and widen the equality gap. Can China weather a food shortage? Of course, it can. Their leaders are not dependent on public approval like yours.
If the Chinese government decide the people will have less food, the people have less food. There is nothing they can do about it. However, when the growers of that food find they can't sell it there is something they can do to the government that caused the problem.

You might be interested to know that in the EU they use US soya for animal feed protein. However, since all US soya is genetically modified, they are testing alternatives. In a year or two, they will be growing their own alternative to soya and that market will disappear also.
