Those words, spoken by a man who for a decade knew the most intimate secrets and corrupt goings on of the con artist, are another step distancing him from protecting the con artist.
In a long ranging interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, Cohen repeatedly undercut every word the con artist has said about the Russian collusion investigation. Everything from saying the investigation was proper and needed because of Russian meddling in the 2016 election, to describing the professional and courteous warrant execution of his home, to bitchslapping the con artist for saying he accepts Putin's words that Russia didn't meddle in the election.
“Simply accepting the denial of Mr. Putin is unsustainable.”
Though he has not given testimony to Mueller's investigation, Cohen has provided any and all documents requested in addition to those seized during the warrant execution.
One interesting point of note, when asked if he had been directed by the con artist to pay off Stormy Daniels before the election to keep her silence, Cohen, in the past, has said no.
Not this time.
“I want to answer. One day I will answer,” he said. “But for now, I can’t comment further on advice of my counsel.”
