Aussies! Check in here!

Surprisingly, sex is still possible! Just need to modify positions :D

It's these snippets of good news that make the world a nice place. Just don't be using large drunk guys in modified positions or you'll end up with something else broken.

I was out clubbing, and a large drunk guy fell over onto my back. Put my arms out to stop myself faceplanting, and ended up with his entire weight on top of me.
End result - a broken left forearm.

I'm sure you will have worked out all the ways

Grrr to large drunk guy!!!!!!

Sea fog was magnificent this morning for a beach run. Wish I had taken some photos but of what. The army blokes coming in from a long swim was a bit scrumptious.

Definitely photo worthy! Yes it was unusual for Perth.

Oh WQ - terrible that it was some drunk guy falling over you! Not really in your control.

Happy hump day everyone! I had training today and managed to sneak out early from work. It was great. Just what I needed. An hour to myself.

So apparently my brush-off for a week worked with the ex. He's now too busy to catch up. Which is good :D

Happy Winter Solstice!

How's everyone doing?

Good here. Winter solstice... Should have run naked around some rocks and channeled my inner Druid.
What's the female version of Druid?

A Druidess?
… and did you spot me!? You should know that I play D&D and play a Druidess...and I'm a geo for work.

Weather looking ok, possibly heading up to Wedge Island.
Fingers crossed

Ah yes thought that was your lithe figure dancing around, I'll say hello next time.
A D&D playing geo, who'd have known......

As for my weight loss, I am being closely watched by my doc.
Having bloods done monthly, so I am monitoring my levels.
To be honest, I am still trying to understand how my body can have so much fat and protein going in yet still be losing weight! The current food pyramid must be completely wrong as I followed it religiously but couldn't shift the fat. Here I am having 110grams of fat each day (5 times the recommended amount!) and still going down!
Makes me wonder just how much credibility to give the medical types who promote the current eating guide......???

Hey WQ,

Yep I can relate. Was told by the dietitian that I should have lunch as my main meal, however that led to a weight gain cause my job required lot of time sitting in meetings. I'm actually healthier not working. I only have one meal a day and that suits my body and I keep losing weight. Never really been a breakfast eater which apparently is totally against all dietary advice. Another example of a cookie cutter solution from the health industry. These days I just listen to my body, if I'm hungry I'll eat otherwise I don't. Does get harder to lose weight as we age and as new studies show your body tries to hold on to the weight cause it thinks you are in survival mode, so weight loss is not a normal instinct for your body. Throw out the eating guide and find an eating regime that suits your body.

Afternoon all,

Had the flu jab this week although had to make another visit to the clinic cause it apparently is recommended and it was free, although not sure having to go out in the cold weather was worth it. Arm hurt for several days afterwards, didn't even get a lollipop.

Purchased a couple of pairs of those fingerless woollen gloves. Don't normally wear gloves but it has been bloody cold in the mornings in the house this past week. The gloves are made from possum fur which is apparently warmer than alpaca. Only two other types of fur are warmer. First saw those types of woollens in NZ on my last visit and yep they are from NZ since possums are an introduced pest which they still blame us for. It's not like we taught the possums to bowl under arm.

Whilst is has been sunny here in Melbourne town for most of the week the sun hasn't kept things warm. Walking down the street is like being in two different seasons. In the sunny bits it's warm in the shady bits it's cold. I don't wear coats that much so getting some strange looks when I'm only in a shirt and sleeveless top whilst others have gloves, scarfs, beanies, and coats on.

So the Socceroos have it all to do in their final game against Peru, not looking good. Surprising how the expected winners are losing in this world cup. Argentina might not make the final 16 is one example.

So we're all getting a tax cut even those that don't need it and at the same time the NDIS is facing a funding shortage, yeah us for putting money where it's needed the most. Good to see my tax dollars are going to prop up the rich so they can trickle down their wealth. As one American comedian put it, "it's like drinking 20 beers and pissing down your leg to see how much goes into the cup attached to your ankle".

Looks like temps not much higher than 14 in Melbourne town for the next week. Will have to keep moving around the house to get warm. Might even have to exercise just to get warm, perish the thought. Hope your weekend goes well.

Stay warm over there. Warming up over the other side. Missed the solstice swim in Hobart this year, shame, it's always good fun.

Weather is nice for the next few days, you should have a good run.

Was pretty nice up there, few hooligan dickheads aside.
Such a beautiful little place. Saturday was a glorious day, water was fabulous. Touch warmer than what I'm used to down south
Pity that it gets the peanuts that turn up to tear along the beach, hoon over the dunes and generally fuck it up for other more leisure minded folks.

Always the dickhead factor. Every country has them but I swear our percentage went up a bit

Please rain. I've just sown barley. The clouds are gathering as predicted and we've had a couple of mils over night, but I could really use another inch. (Story of my life)

Yeah, another inch is always useful.

Crops over this side have all germinated so they are reasonably happy for a reasonable start for the first time in 5 years, but fingers crossed for them for follow up.

I can’t wait for summer to arrive and bring the hot weather.
To get naked and join the family at the beach.

Afternoon all,

Stayed up to watch the World Cup matches and the saw the Aussies just run out of steam. Cahill was not properly served even when he was in front of goal. What ever plans the management had didn't work, can't blame the players for this one. If you don't have plans to score goals then you can't win tournaments. It's that simple.

Also saw the Argentina v Nigeria game which was much better and thanks to Messi Argentina will live to play another day, though I don't think they will get very far. Didn't go to bed till 6am, thankfully I'm retired so slept thru the rest of the morning. Lots more sport coming up on late night TV. Looking forward to the start of Le Tour on July 7.

Decided it was cold enough to wear my new fingerless gloves. Feel a bit like bursting into song.."gotta pick a pocket or two...". They are warm though so that helps holding the video game controller. Feels like it's colder in the house than outside.

Looking at new ways to get thru Melbourne city with the new road closures. It's like Burke and Wills although I know my way around the city so no chance of dying due to lack of supplies. Might have to think of taking coffee with me as it can take nearly two hours to take a trip that should last 45 mins.

Only just realised the next set of school holidays starts on the weekend. Kids these days get more holidays than when I was a kid in the last century. So no going near shopping centres unless I'm really in need of something.

Hope the rest of your week goes well. This month seems to of gone quickly. May be the lack of daylight has something to with it.

Hi darkelf!

Cool up here too... though not so much perhaps!

Thought I was going soft last week when I felt actually cold... then realised I was coming down with something and had a temperature! Thank goodness :D

Shame about the Socceroos... watching England a surprisingly relaxing affair so far!
Enjoyed a bit of one day cricket too...:D

Wimbledon, Le Tour, more cricket... lots going on.
