I would love to own a road (i.e., touring) bicycle. For most of my life, I've owned and ridden one.


The problem is that I am no longer willing to ride where the fucking idiots driving automobiles can kill me. The roads where I used to ride are now completely fucked up with automobile traffic— and the assholes in cars will run you over without batting an eye.


So, I am now regrettably restricted to owning and riding a "hybrid" bicycle so that I can ride on the largely unpaved bicycle trails.
