If you go up the creek, Ozark lore says:

BRING A PADDLE! :D :D :D

I didn't make it to the crick. But I did get most of the grass cut before the rain. The dogs helped as only dogs can.

I saw Bellisarius had some car trouble, I doubt it's very serious.

Home, at the hacienda. There's a wee road trip for an outing tomorrow afternoon with a return on Saturday night . . . to work on Sunday. Gotta make sure the union elevator boys don't walk off the job.

I'm so glad to see "crick." Makes me feel all speshul.

I make take to fixin' to do stuff. It's wearing off on me.

I think that I'm fixin' to fix some soup for course number one . . . .

Not at all. The coil on cyl. #5 took a dump on me. No sooner had I dealt with that than #8 did the same. Fortunately I was prepared for that. 10 min. fix with no rush. As it appears that they're going to plague me one at a time I have 5 spares waiting for the inevitable.

Well, that's annoying.

Pretty much. I should go ahead and change them all and get it over with. But I'm hard headed, the days are long, and hot. So I'll wait until fall, have all of my ducks lined up, and get it over with. Until then I'll just play the hand I'm dealt.

This should have gone in the last thread, what with how such problems can bring out the bitchy malevolent ducks.

Happy Friday, whether or not there are bitchy and malevolent baby ducks running about. As it stands, I haven't seen any.

I did bring mah gummint model for bribes-n-sich. And a few mags, and a bix of ammo. Just in case.

Looks like we get dry weather today. The paving guy will finish ontime, thanks be to Allah.

Looks like flash flood warnings at home. Allah, please, we beg you for mercies . . . .

We finally got some cooler temps so we did a big clean up at the shop and I ordered and had installed two of the hose type air conditioner units into the computer room. I've never been around them before so I'm hoping they will do the job.

I have a bit of experience with these thingies.

We used a couple at the apartment complex which I helped to keep from falling down.

If installed properly, like the one in the piccie, they work decently, and not too noisily.

The tenants we issued them to until we got the parts for their central sysytem didn't bitch about them. And they would have bitched, trust me . . . .

Okay, I like the fact that my bacon comes vacuum-packed. What I do not like is it being so tightly vacuum-packed that I have to cut into the meat to find a spot to separate the plastic in order to get the goodness out. If eggs were that stubborn, no one would eat them with their bacon!

My pet peeve is the "predictive" slicing machines they use so as to purvey exactly 13 or 16 oz. Those slices that are sooooo thin you can read newsprint through them.

... and why do they bother to slice cheese and then put it back together again like plywood?

We go through a lot of Ramen.

Ever hear of a Fumi salad? When you have to go to a pot-luck, it seems to be the go-to around here. It seems to have taken the place of potato salad.

lol...

I think that is some pretty gnarly shit. I won't eat it.
The doctors say I'm not supposed to eat potato salad, but I won't their opinions stop me.

Back in the day we had some Korean's in the barracks across the assembly area from us. They were burying their Kimchi pots in the shrubbery. You didn't want to be downwind when they uncorked those suckers.

My experience with the union boys is that if reason doesn't work...........bribery does.

So does blackmail when you know your rep is screwing the wife of one of the midnight workers.

Thank-you muchly for the information. I had the pros install them, the windows here open well but they are too narrow for larger window units and since I don't own the place I am not installing central air here.

Mine comes in a cardboard box with butchers paper between the layers. Local is still best when you can find it.

Is your trailer park infested with Koreans now? Perhaps you should mention that to ICE the next time you visit the boys down at Denny's.
