This conversation reminded me of one I had with a fella the other night.

Bear with me now, my mind runs in oblique circles.

We were talking horses, and I told him after the 2 residing here die off there would be no more equines. The suggestion was made that maybe I could move to minis. I said, "no buddy, while they are cute as all get out, minis are the Jack Russell/Dachshunds of the equine world, smart, almost too smart for their own good and in to everything"

I remember the old commercial, two girls watching a "gifted" Shetland pony eat the dog house.

"Is he mean?"

"CHA!"

We're in a cooling trend today. Of course, that is only because it is raining again.

;) ;)

We got almost an inch of rain last weekend. While much needed I'd rather see a Monsoon pattern establish itself. But we're a couple of weeks away from the Monsoon season yet.

It's always monsoon season here. At least it's green.
I swear that we must be the lawnmower sales capital of the USA...

Out here "Swamp Coolers" work just fine. I cool the place down to 'meat chilling' temperatures in the AM so I'm sustained through the heat of the day.

Falls in line with the "calming of the seas" meme.

If worst comes to worst I can jump in the car and be at 11,000 ft. in 20 min. It's substantially cooler up there. :)

It rained off and on all night. It's supposed to be cooler today with a chance of thunderstorms. I worked through the garden yesterday, so rain is welcome, just so long as it doesn't get all crazy and want to stay.

LMAO!!!! I guess you won't be making day trips to the Ozarks anytime soon then. :)

I actually live in the fringes of the Ozarks.
I think the difference is the trees. You don't really see the stark contrasts and none of it is at real altitude. My driveway used to freak me out until I used the logging proceeds to carve the top of it out.

I woke up and it was 85º. Now it's 71º. I'm going to hit the pool, it is so nice when the water is warmer than the air temperature.

I know that. :) Pretty country there.
