I'm surprised that dogs with brains that small don't need to be reminded to breathe.

It's why they are ankle-biters.

I also think that, given what I know now, that dachshunds are not designed to be big dogs. It takes a tiny, mean brain with teeth to go down a hole after another tiny mean brain with teeth.

:D

They aren't mine!

I'm just the only person they respect. Is that a sign of a small, mean brain???

OK, so you're the one that feeds them, waters them, takes them to the vet, lets them in and lets them out. Do they bring you peanuts? :D;)

All they do for me is dispose of dead squirrels.

The Queen and the vet don't think that it is healthy for them to eat them, but I have my own concerns as to what is in their "dog food."

Home, such as it is. Kitteh was waiting.

Zoomed through earlier and showered and changed so's could meet the Local Gal for dinner out and lots of conversation. This is the really fun bit - learning and so on.

Catfish came up in chat, so I asked that we got to a place with good fishies next time. She said there are 3 or 4 to choose from.

Allah protect me . . . .

*chuckle* Don't forget to bring some home for kitteh.

I think pet food is probably safer than human food that comes of packages, sadly the standards tend to be higher. A good reason to eat more farm-based diet.

There was a place I used to go to that made an amazing blackened catfish, it's too much of a drive now and I haven't found a place locally that can manage decent seafood so more than one new place has resulted in a doggie bag and waggy tails.

Happy payday Wednesday!!!

I'm open to new ideas, and I'm willing to set aside previous experiences in light of the possibility of better outcomes.

There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance—, that principle is contempt prior to investigation.

~ Herbert Spenser

Let us not be contemptuous, shall we???

I met a nice little wiener dog at the complex on Monday. His mother was taking him for his constitutional.

I bent down and extended my hand near him so's he could sniff it at his leisure. He was in no hurry. The tail was wagging more because he thought that his mommy wanted him to than because he wanted to.

He finally let me pet him just a little. I did speak to him all along. Mom said that he's 14.

He's a good boy.

The wagging tail is only to alert the rest of the pack that the game is afoot.

;)

It's not, "Glad to meet you."

It's "Glad to have cornered you..."

No, I had my back to the open. If anything, he was cornered against his mom's legs.

The funny look on his face and the wagging tail may have been the realization of his less-than-advantageous positioning and the expression of the hope that I wouldn't kill him.

I assured him that it's been decades since I ate any dogs.

Wait, when did we go to the China Buffet last???

See, the problem is that he didn't have a pack.

;)

The more there are, the meaner they are...

In some ways, they're a lot like people.

That's a fact. Some cowards find their courage by creating their own pack.

As a bouncer, one of my first rules was to identify the "mouth" and then take him out. He was usually the pussy trying to encourage his buddies to violence. It's amazing how effective of a tactic that that is.

This conversation reminded me of one I had with a fella the other night.

Bear with me now, my mind runs in oblique circles.

We were talking horses, and I told him after the 2 residing here die off there would be no more equines. The suggestion was made that maybe I could move to minis. I said, "no buddy, while they are cute as all get out, minis are the Jack Russell/Dachshunds of the equine world, smart, almost too smart for their own good and in to everything"

No, you certainly are not.

But I see that I missed your list of GB fellas, so I felt . . . let's just leave it at left out.

If I had a heart, it would have wounded me deeply.

Please don't tell me that I'm losing my charm and general wondemousness . . . .

Of course not. But you are not just an internet friend. You rank high up, in the real world. Which is better.

Getting a pup today, to foster. It has been awhile.

Haven't had bacon in many months. :(

Well, thank you verra much for that tidbit which had tried to slip what's left of my head. My hurted feelers and broke  are all menderized again, and Life has meaning.

And I suspect that we're long past due a chat, or something like that. And no, not messengering or any of that horse hockey.

Good luck with the new critter. One of the people I mentor found an 8 YO Siamese male for adoption. The timing is all wrong. Now. Life won't always be this way.

And I'm not sure that Kitteh is willing to share just yet. He may have earned a cat-free house for the rest of his days.

Morning Wat. Yet another scorcher on the way. First day of a three day series. Oh well, nothing to be done about it except hunker down and stay out of the noonday sun.
