The former.

No. 1, mother -son is the most popular form of I/T stories on this site. That's what gets the biggest views.

No.2, readers do like it when you add an element of romance to the relationship. I think that's a plus, and will get more readers.

But the readership on this site is so big that as long as the story is decently written (and maybe even if it isn't) you can get a very big readership for both the concepts you've outlined.

An example of an extremely popular "manipulative daughter" story is The Anonymous and the Curious, by Discreetnfun. It came out only a little over a year ago and already is one of the all time top 250 stories on Literotica. But even that story had a sweet element to it.

The readers don't have much of a way to tell about the content of a story before they view it. The title, short description, author name, and presence or absence of a red H are about all they have to go on. If you want to get more views then the difference has to be in one of those things. That's true at first, but not necessarily over the long haul, because after a while the content of the story plays a role in the number of views it gets. A variety of factors in the long run can drive viewers to a story, such as

-- whether it's on a toplist
-- whether it's on the favorites lists of readers
-- whether it shows up in the similar stories list at the end of other stories

These things will be driven in part by whether people like the content of the story and give it a high score or put it on their favorites list.

In my opinion, the two biggest drivers of views in the I/T category are the rating and the title. And the biggest driver of rating is the appeal of the premise. Which premise is more appealing? You haven't stated too much about the stories, but if the daughter is involved with the father for say money or possessions, then the son and mother falling love will have more appeal because I/T readers look for family members having sex because they want to. But if the daughter is hot and she has hot sex with her father after an interesting seduction, that could have more appeal than a story where the son and mother one day say "We love each other! Let's fuck!" for no real reason.

Believe it or not, but the biggest fan base for mother and son incest stories are those readers from the United Kingdom and from India.

Interestingly enough, you can avoid the down voting by writing a story of a stepmother having sex with her stepson, especially if the father is a bastard and treats the stepmother deplorably. It's an added bonus when a stepson falls in love with his stepmother.

Just because they're not blood related doesn't make their forbidden, sexually relationship any more incestuous, especially if they live in the same house and under the same roof.

Another good story to write and a fan favorite is mother-in-law and son-in-law sex or a sister-in-law having sex with her brother-in-law. Normally, that's not deemed incestuous unless, again, if they abide together in the same household.

I think this is right. People aren't going to bother reading incest stories in the first place unless they are into it. The enormous audience for incest stories proves that real, full-on blood-relation incest is what the vast majority of this audience craves. It's more taboo, and, therefore, for this audience, more erotic. It makes no sense to me to water it down by turning it into step-incest, unless your motive is artistic rather than to avoid criticism.

My second-lowest rated story is a brother/sister in law story posted to I/T. It was only my second story posted to Lit and the nature of their relationship is not the only reason I could point to for the relatively low score.

But the original question was about views, not votes. That low-rated story is also my most-viewed story. As well as blood related stories of incest, I've written hundreds of in-law incest stories all posted under the incest category and all posted at Literotica.

The bottom line is, it doesn't matter what you write or where you post it, there are those who will take issue with your story, just as there are those who continue to take issue with whatever post I make on these forum boards.

The only readers who vote all of the time are those who bash stories.

My story, Stripping my Mother-in-law Naked written under my BostonFictionWriter name and posted in 2007 earned 850,000 hits within 2 months that it posted. My Sex with my Sister-in-law, Samantha story posted under my BostonFictionWriter name earned 650,000 hits within 2 months that it posted.

Those are only 2 non-blood related incestuous stories that were posted under the incest category that had a huge and favorable response. Take from that what you'd like.

I deleted both stories in 2007 to publish them as e-Books.

This reminds me of a character in Nathanael West's The Day of the Locust who is described as having feelings of "excited disgust."

People will sometimes "hate read" - this may apply to erotica or, perhaps, a political blog. They want to get feelings of moral superiority. They may also be secretly attracted to whatever sex act or political opinion is in there and they are afraid to admit it, even to themselves.
