A pivotal point at which the Republican party transitioned into the Repugnican party occurred when several prominent party leaders (Lee Atwater and then Karl Rove) started advancing the proposition that their party did not conform to reality, they created reality. In their minds, truth became whatever they wanted it to be. That is why it is so easy for them to deny climate change, racism, misogyny, corruption, etc.

From that history of denying facts and science in the pursuit of raw power, Repugnicans from the highest level to the rank have no sense of shame for supporting a self-obsessed pathological liar.

I am not defending those republican politicians, but you have to understand the position they're in. The Republican voters are pretty firmly in Trump's corner. If they don't give his overblown ego a verbal handjob at these meetings he may feel insufficiently ego-stroked and tweet some mean things about them and those voters will slaughter them in their primaries for not having the president's back.

They're really in between a rock and a hard place. If they don't stand with trump they'll be massacred in the primaries but that same "I'm with Trump" is likely to be a death sentence for their chances in the general midterms.

They kind of have to overlook a lot, to continue to back someone with so many glaring mistakes that would cripple any real politicians career. What surprised me is how many there turned out to be, that were willing to suspend their own core values, for such little charm, or ability to lie convincingly. I mean, he has tells. A lot of them, more than I would think anyone would be able to overlook all of them.

His voice rises in pitch, and volume when he lies. He uses obviously "I'm not lying" prefaces to statements. How can someone really trust anyone that says "Believe me, trust me on this," and all the other variations on that, every other statement? If someone is telling the truth, then they don't have to tell you, this next statement is not a lie... trust me on this.

Also, why don't they just throw him in fucking Leavenworth for a breach to National Security? He tweeted Syria that missiles were coming their way, they will be nice, they will be new, and they will be "Smart." (His quotes, not mine.) Did anyone else miss that? Funny, because when the missiles got there, everything of military value was mysteriously pulled out, so the strike was a waste of tax payer's dollars (Right into Rayheon's bank account.)

Now, I don't know how many veterans we have here, but if you call your wife, and tell her "We're leaving Faluja this morning, so I won't get to call you back for at least 36 hours" your CO can call the MPs, and arrest you on the spot.

So, Apologists, explain that. Overlook everything else, and tell me, why we need a commander in chief that can't put down his "Smart" (My quotes this time) phone, and stop bragging long enough not to undermine our own military operations by impulsivley bragging.

John McCain made a fool of himself, pretending to gag from Obama's farts, as he walked behind Obama, after the debate was over. He had been raving and throwing fits. People were frightened by Sarah Palin inheriting the Oval Office if old McCain keeled over white throwing a tantrum.

It was as if the G.O.P. had thrown the presidency to Obama wrapped up with a bow. It was a relief to have a candidate that was not another Republican twerp. People came out in droves to vote for Obama.

Judge orders hearing in Michael Cohen case as she considers appointing watchdog for Trump files

A federal judge has told prosecutors, lawyers for President Donald Trump as well as lawyers for his own attorney, Michael Cohen, to appear at a hearing Thursday.

Cohen's home, hotel room and office were raided by FBI agents on April 9 as part of a criminal investigation.

Among the files seized were ones related to a $130,000 payment Cohen made to porn star Stormy Daniels right before the 2016 election in exchange for what she has said was her silence about an alleged tryst with Trump.
