Trump enablers regret nothing. They do not give a fuck about anything, but themselves. When the truth about Trump was revealed, the Republican politicians were concerned about their "brand."

When there was a chance to push Trump out, Republican candidates were howling in front of ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, about Trump's scandals. The same Republicans rushed to benefit from Trump's presence.

The Republicans were willing to grovel to a pathogen, in the form of something that looked like a human being- Trump

It was one thing, to choose to be infected, but it is a completely different matter, to decide to let the pathogen infect the whole country.

The whole country did not benefit.

Only they and their patrons received a benefit.

Trump Invites His Employees To Praise Him During Cabinet Meeting

Jun 12, 2017

President Donald Trump invited his top employees to shower him with compliments. They happily obliged, one-by-one, on live television. During a Cabinet meeting at the White House, the president touted the “record-setting pace” of his legislative agenda and claimed “never has there been a president, with few exceptions” who has accomplished more while in office.

Flynn’s account turned out to be untrue, as Trump and senior White House aides soon learned. But it was another 15 days before Pence himself was so informed, and he got the news not from his colleagues but from another story in the Post, according to Axios. When Flynn was fired, Trump and his surrogates used the fact that Flynn had misled Pence as the reason. But senior staff had left Pence in the dark for two weeks. Pence absorbed the disrespect and moved on.

Comey: ‘I’m Not Permitted to Answer’ Whether Sensitive Info Was Kept Away From Mike Flynn

April 19th, 2018

Maddow underscored that Flynn remained in the White House far beyond the moment when warnings emerged that “he was compromised by the Russian government, that he was not being honest, that he appeared to be vulnerable to blackmail.”

Asked whether any intelligence department that contributed to findings that Flynn was compromised “take any measures to keep sensitive information from him, to protect national security from somebody who is believed to be compromised,” Comey responded with an answer far shorter than the question.

“I understand why you have that question,” he said. “I’m not permitted to answer that.”

What is this "truth" of which you write?

What is this "truth" of which you write?

gotsnowgotslush:

You have written a very concise summary of several prominent Republicans who sold out to a pathological liar. It is telling that one of the first posts you received in response (see above) refers to the word truth in quotation marks.

A pivotal point at which the Republican party transitioned into the Repugnican party occurred when several prominent party leaders (Lee Atwater and then Karl Rove) started advancing the proposition that their party did not conform to reality, they created reality. In their minds, truth became whatever they wanted it to be. That is why it is so easy for them to deny climate change, racism, misogyny, corruption, etc.

From that history of denying facts and science in the pursuit of raw power, Repugnicans from the highest level to the rank have no sense of shame for supporting a self-obsessed pathological liar.

Thanks for raising this issue and many others in your political threads,

I am not defending those republican politicians, but you have to understand the position they're in. The Republican voters are pretty firmly in Trump's corner. If they don't give his overblown ego a verbal handjob at these meetings he may feel insufficiently ego-stroked and tweet some mean things about them and those voters will slaughter them in their primaries for not having the president's back.

They're really in between a rock and a hard place. If they don't stand with trump they'll be massacred in the primaries but that same "I'm with Trump" is likely to be a death sentence for their chances in the general midterms.

Enablers/supporters? Okay, I'm not going to quibble, but yeah. They kind of have to overlook a lot, to continue to back someone with so many glaring mistakes that would cripple any real politicians career. What surprised me is how many there turned out to be, that were willing to suspend their own core values, for such little charm, or ability to lie convincingly. I mean, he has tells. A lot of them, more than I would think anyone would be able to overlook all of them.

His voice rises in pitch, and volume when he lies. He uses obviously "I'm not lying" prefaces to statements. How can someone really trust anyone that says "Believe me, trust me on this," and all the other variations on that, every other statement? If someone is telling the truth, then they don't have to tell you, this next statement is not a lie... trust me on this.

Also, why don't they just throw him in fucking Leavenworth for a breach to National Security? He tweeted Syria that missiles were coming their way, they will be nice, they will be new, and they will be "Smart." (His quotes, not mine.) Did anyone else miss that? Funny, because when the missiles got there, everything of military value was mysteriously pulled out, so the strike was a waste of tax payer's dollars (Right into Rayheon's bank account.)

Now, I don't know how many veterans we have here, but if you call your wife, and tell her "We're leaving Faluja this morning, so I won't get to call you back for at least 36 hours" your CO can call the MPs, and arrest you on the spot.

So, Apologists, explain that. Overlook everything else, and tell me, why we need a commander in chief that can't put down his "Smart" (My quotes this time) phone, and stop bragging long enough not to undermine our own military operations by impulsivley bragging.

We should not have to take tater-tot's fucking play toy away, every time we have to carry out an attack without RSVPing first. You do not call the enemy, and tell them the missiles are coming! Your golden calf does. So, you tell me, are we going to effectively fight Syria, and Russia, or do we continue to back a "Leader" who is a security breach?

Your call, make one. You can't have both. Defend him on that, or support the troops in their war effort.

I'm sure very few Republicans voted for Silly Hilly. Those who did were probably mostly voting against Trump.

Let's not let this bother us folks. We survived 8 yrs of Odumba. We can do anything.

Not even close to a parallel. You are either despicable or really, really stupid. Of course, a Trump supporter can easily be both.

Find How many registered Republicans voted for Hillary Clinton?
Many political observers thought a significant number of Republicans would either vote for Clinton, one of the third party candidates, or stay home rather than casting their votes for Trump. According to the exit polls, Republicans stayed loyal to their presidential candidate. Some 89 percent of self-described Republicans voted for Trump; 91 percent of white Republicans did. In contrast, only 84 percent of white Democrats voted for Clinton. She did win 86 percent of white Democratic women, but only 81 percent of white, Democratic men voted for her. Put another way, 9 percent of white Republicans did not vote for Trump, and 16 percent of white Democrats did not vote for Clinton. Additionally, black turnout was down, as were almost all minority voters.

Surprisingly, given all of the attention to Trump’s attitudes and behavior toward women, he did virtually as well among white, Republican women (91 percent support) as he did among white, Republican men (92 percent). Clinton was more competitive among white independent women than men, losing to Trump by a 49 to 41 percent margin among independent women and by 57 to 31 percent among independent men.
IOW citizens heard what they wanted to hear and voted or abstained accordingly. Even with the numbers cited, most voters rejected Tromp.

With Trump at the helm, it's not all that wise to be assuming anything will be here in six years and seven months.

It wasn't wise to suffer 8 yrs of Odumba either. You should hear my opinion on Bush, Jr. - w/just the facts. But I won't cuz I respect that his mom has passed on and suffered American politics for about 70 yrs.

Distract and deflect. Getting hard to maintain your Trump Dope stance, isn't it? Got to dredge up sweeping generalizations and misperceptions of the past.

I'm in my seventies and worked in the federal government. I don't think you have anything to teach me about national politics--or much of anything else.

Guess you've lost, haven't you, going to making up my past for me to deflect and detract from the present reality?

Why would I try to teach you anything GI Joe wannabe? Obviously you aren't capable of learning anything.

WTF are you on about "making up your past"? Dementia much? Stop living in the past.

Hell, I worked for them too at one time, but at least I'm not brainwashed and living in whatever year you are in.

The day after the first GOP debate, I posted something here to the effect that if Trump and Hilly won the nominations of their respective parties, they would be the worst pair of candidates ever offered by the major parties. I haven't changed my mind on that, and I believe most voters felt the same way and still do.

You keep saying most voters rejected Trump. I think we must have different definitions of "most." I realize a majority of voters voted for a different candidate than The Donald, but you can say the same thing about Silly Hilly, although she did receive more popular votes than he did.

You have also said repeatedly that Trump won because of 77,000 votes he received in three counties in swing states. I wish you would say which counties those were.

We can certainly leave it with you characterizing it that way. I don't think history is being kind to your kind. Which is rather comforting. :)

More voters rejected lying-sack-of-shit Tromp than rejected Clinton. Does Tromp act like a winner? He sure whines.

I have repeatedly posted the answer, including to you previously. Since you're too lazy to look yourself, here'tis:

The Election Came Down to 77,744 Votes in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan (Updated)

For goodness sake!

After Bush Junior left when the country was burning down to supporting timbers. People did not want a repeat performance. The overt racism, 9/11, the Wall St. meltdown, and the fiasco of Yellow Cake was quite enough.

John McCain made a fool of himself, pretending to gag from Obama's farts, as he walked behind Obama, after the debate was over. He had been raving and throwing fits. People were frightened by Sarah Palin inheriting the Oval Office if old McCain keeled over white throwing a tantrum.

It was as if the G.O.P. had thrown the presidency to Obama wrapped up with a bow. It was a relief to have a candidate that was not another Republican twerp. People came out in droves to vote for Obama.

They came out in droves for Hillary Clinton. The Republicans were supporting a fucking nutcase with no conscience, and no moral compass. He fed every worst impulsive possible. The numbskulls in Boston were beating minorities in the streets, and quoting Trump while they did it.

People voted because they were desperate to not have a fascist in the White House. Who did not vote ?

People that did not really give a fuck that a monster was about to rule over their lives.

I have sympathy for the Bernie people. They should have kept their eyes on what was real. They were a twig of the Democrat tree, and the tree was decorated for Hillary. I understand that Hillary could not promote Bernie above Kasich. She wanted the Republicans to feel reassured that their states had a voice in the White House

What is it, that Trump wants to search for, in Michael Cohen's files ?

Judge orders hearing in Michael Cohen case as she considers appointing watchdog for Trump files

A federal judge has told prosecutors, lawyers for President Donald Trump as well as lawyers for his own attorney, Michael Cohen, to appear at a hearing Thursday.

Cohen's home, hotel room and office were raided by FBI agents on April 9 as part of a criminal investigation.

Among the files seized were ones related to a $130,000 payment Cohen made to porn star Stormy Daniels right before the 2016 election in exchange for what she has said was her silence about an alleged tryst with Trump.

President Trump’s political donors are picking up the tab for at least part of the legal fees charged by Charles Harder, a Beverly Hills lawyer whose work for Trump includes litigation growing out of his alleged sexual encounter with adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

(USA Today)

Paul Seamus Ryan, Common Cause’s vice president for policy and litigation, told USA Today that if the campaign paid Harder for work related to Daniels, it could be considered a “concession” by Trump that president’s battle with Daniels over the payment “is a political— NOT personal expense.”

The newspaper said its review of campaign finance reports indicates the Trump campaign has paid Harder $93,000 since January, part of $834,000 in legal expenses the campaign has racked up in that period.

Donald Trump — through Charles Harder, the lawyer best known for helping Peter Thiel put Gawker out of business — attached his name to a court filing that, for the first time, linked him to Stephanie Clifford.

Michael Cohen

In a wide-ranging article exploring the seven-year saga, there’s a fantastic quote attributed to Cohen, whom Clifford is accusing of breaching the hush agreement because he himself confirmed its existence to the press. “I didn’t fucking breach it!” Cohen is said to have yelled, according to the Journal, sounding every bit like any concerned friend would.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/trumps...en-the-president-and-the-porn-star-1521561532

As the legal basis for its action, the watchdog organization cited a 1978 law, the Ethics in Government Act, that requires candidates to report all liabilities owned to any creditor exceeding $10,000 "at any time during the preceding calendar year." Cohen's payment to Daniels — made as part of a nondisclosure agreement — was reportedly arranged days before the election.
