>> Who Can Run and Win 2020

Joe Biden -- too old
Bernie Sanders -- too old
Pocohantus -- too maligned
Senator Chris Murphy -- who?
Kamala Harris -- too corporate
Eric Holder -- not dumb enough
Oprah/Madonna/Beyonce -- right
Michael Avenatti -- why spoil the fun?
Robert Mueller -- not dumb enough
David Hogg -- too young, but wait...

Mitt Romney could try again. Dwayne 'Rock' Johnson is goofy enough. Bill Nye could make a good run. A bunch of senators will try and fail as usual. Chelsea Clinton probably isn't interested. Where is Max Headroom when we need him?

Yeah but I don't think any of them are serious contenders--except Eric Holder, maybe.

To be honest I just wanted to make a poll with Michael Avenatti on it :D:D

Tulsi Gabbard should be in the first rank. Harris and most of the Establishment Demos are toast.

No party has serious contenders now. Remember Tromp campaigning, sucking the media oxygen from everyone else with his deranged shows? That's where any would-be-POTUS is -- whatever they do or say, Tromp will trump them.

He's quite the experienced attention whore. His tweetstorms drive everything else below the fold. Harris or Rubio or Warren or Cruz give a strong policy address. Tromp announces he's going after sand n!ggers with swarms of radioactive wasps and that Corker eats chicken-fried white babies. Who listens to mere senators then?

I don't expect Trump to have serious competition, and if he does the most likely to do it would be Kasich, a Reagan Republican who now gets called a moderate all the time because the rest of the party has gone over a cliff.

John Warner is 91, so I'm thinking no.

Warren might run, but I'm not convinced she wants to be President. Frankly, it was her time in 2016 (when I wanted her to run), and she didn't seize it. I'm less interested this go-round.

I'm thinking "pro-Trump, pro-Assad" isn't really a winning slogan, but if it would get her out of the House, I'd urge her to make a run.

Two other names I'd throw out: Deval Patrick and Kirsten Gillibrand. And assuming Sherrod Brown gets re-elected this fall, if he ever wants to take a shot, 2020 would be now or never.

I'm hoping either Bernie or Elizabeth Warren but right now its a total coinflip on the others.

I'll take the Starship Warriors method. All candidates for federal or higher office must be a veteran with an honorable discharge. Duckworth is in. The rest are poseurs.

Tulsi Gabbard is a Major in the Hawaii NG, or was. Unlike the Chicken Hawks in both parties, she doesn't care for war much.

Based on the 3 million women who were in the streets on inauguration day, I think women are the most united of the many factions that make up the D's. I think that women like Warren will be seen as too gurlie. No one wants a pants suit. What misogynist fault could one have with Gabbard or Duckworth. Also, I think one represents the D establishment and the other the progressive wing.

I, like many others, predicted a Clinton victory in 2016.

I figure one big error of mine was neglecting that in the past 38 years, the parties tended to alternate occupation of the White House every 8 years.

I see this repeating itself.

The Democrat contender will do as well in 2020 as Kerry and Mondale in their time—particularly if they are PC or seen as such. I can see it now: Warren in a hijab.

Either Trump will win in 2020—particularly after visiting North Korea—which elements of the Left likely wanted a US president to do, or another Republican will win: likely Pence.

A Democrat will win in 2024, and if Obama, Clinton, and Carter are any indicators, he/she will be a dark horse that neither I, nor likely many people, will have heard of until less than 2 years before the election, perhaps not even until 2024.

Yea i kinda have to agree with this, because based on the lineup of the 2016 democratic primaries they just don't have anyone the people can really get behind. I mean i was literally laughing my ass off because the 2016 democratic primaries seemed more like the DNC trying to give the democrat nomination to HRC and make it look like legitimate voting. Not that i could blame any of the democrat candidates at the time because who in their right mind would want to go against the Clinton political WAR MACHINE. Yes friends i used those three words in the same sentence POLITICAL WAR MACHINE. I do have to give full credit to Bernie Sanders though, he stayed in until the end.

As for whether or not HRC will run again is an interesting question, but if she did what the news reports say i doubt it but it depends how forgiving her supporters are.

I never liked the idea of the first woman president being someone who rid on her husband's coattails. I see her as a lesser evil than Trump, but not by much. Much better than either were Stein and Johnson.

I don't see her running any more than Carter did after 1980, but she might be a mover and shaker in the primaries, though I doubt that will make much of a difference.

Not sure if i see HRC as someone who was trying to ride her husbands coattails, I'd actually have to argue she was planning her own presidential run as far back as during the time of the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Because any normal woman would rip their cheating, philandering husband a new one rather than go with the "stand by my man" route.
