Guidance needed: Land use law

Hello! I am noodling over a new story and need the help of a land use lawyer... please PM me if you are able/willing to answer some esoteric questions...

You will have to tell which jurisdiction you're interested in, as land use laws vary a lot country to country.

That said, it's a story, so why not just mold the laws so they work best for what you need for your story?

In the US, land use is usually governed mostly by state, county, and municipal regulations. There is no "US land use law" except as it applies to Federal lands, and then it is regulated by the relevant federal agency, and again, the rules vary.

If you want an answer then you may need to ask a specific question. Or you can just make it up.
