The Obamagood Thread

And everybody (well, pretty much the whiny-ass Right) said he was a pussy when it came to confronting America's enemies!
Somehow, both the whiny-ass Right and the Corporate Liberals managed to cling to the mistaken notion that Obama was the cool progressive dude that he pretended to be. In reality, Obama was Dick Cheney with a Hollywood makeover. By the way, America doesn't really have much in the way of enemies. There were those guys that blew up the world trade center, but then we put them on the payroll.

Yes, America doesn't have much in the way of enemies any more. That's because Obama bombed them all, dumbass.

Oh fucker, please. The way you guys were urine-soaked moaning for eight years straight, he was either The Antichrist that would bring about the End Times with his black Kenyan Muslim voodoo magicks, or a Hitler-Stalin-Franco-Mao fusion clone forged in a C.O.B.R.A. chamber by Dr. Mindbender and bent on usurping The American Way by changing everyone into green-suited communist bolshevik apparatchiks waving little red books.

Your Play-Doh message branding was never really solid to sit on, but the mindless sure ate it up like a fresh bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios.

By the way, America doesn't really have much in the way of enemies.

BWAHAHAHA! Like I said, the way you fuckers were caterwauling for two terms? Oh mai gah.

Please tell me you moonlight at Dangerfield's on the weekends. I'll come peep your act and tell your manager to keep you on until the summer blockbusters come out to snag your swagger! :D

Michelle Obama’s portrait in the Smithsonian Museum has been a buzz ever since the unveiling. Due to the high volume of viewers, the painting was relocated to an area of the museum where there was enough room for viewers to see.

The National Portrait Gallery tweeted, “We’re always changing things up here. Due to the high volume of visitors, we’ve relocated Michelle Obama’s portrait to the 3rd floor in our 20th-Century Americans galleries for a more spacious viewing experience.”

In February 2018, 176,700 people visited the gallery. Just last weekend 45,000 visitors came to view the portrait.

I finally came up with something good Pewty Cat did while in office: He limited himself to 2 terms.

One doesn't limit oneself to two U.S. presidential terms. The 22nd Amendment did that. The only president since that amendment passed who has talked about a president having longer in office has been Trump. This probably should tell you something significant about that issue--and about Trump as opposed to Obama and any other U.S. president since Franklin D. Roosevelt--but it probably doesn't.

This thread isn't about other presidents though.

Heading to the Southern White House to watch the Funeral Service of Barbara Bush. First Lady Melania has arrived in Houston to pay our respects. Will be a beautiful day!

To be fair, Trump did send out a statement last week, or last year, depending on how you look at it.

The Obamas - You Can't Fake That

He helped to raise his girls. He had given them all the love they needed, to grow up confident, independent, and loving.

People handed their babies to him. Babies smiled, laughed, and slept in his arms. He was not self conscious about his dignity, or appearance, or how silly he looked. He was there for them, not himself. Children looked into his face with love, trust, and hope. They were drawn to him. He gave, and he keeps giving. It is all about the children.

His kindness, compassion, and ability to communicate empathy, gave Melania a moment of peace, freedom, and joy.

He is strong enough to be open.

A Great Man, that achieved much.
A role model, a hero, a good man.

Truly one of the "good guys."

Kentucky Crowd Cheers Valedictorian’s Trump Quote, Then Learns Obama Said It

By Laura M. Holson

June 4, 2018

Wisdom comes from the unlikeliest places. And on Saturday, Ben Bowling, the valedictorian of Bell County High School in Pineville, Ky., made an inspirational appeal that left his graduating classmates and their parents dumbstruck.

“This is the part of my speech where I share some inspirational quotes I found on Google,” he told the packed auditorium. “‘Don’t just get involved. Fight for your seat at the table. Better yet, fight for a seat at the head of the table’ — Donald J. Trump.”

The crowd burst into applause. President Trump is quite popular in Pineville and the surrounding area, which is the heart of coal country and overwhelmingly supported the president in the 2016 election after he promised to bring coal jobs back to America.

Mr. Bowling, though, wasn’t finished.

“Just kidding,” he said. “That was Barack Obama.”

I think Obama has great mic dropping skills.

I also like how Obama has tremendous faith in the American people.

Oh wait... does he have faith in the American people? Does he know how mic dropping works?

Obama offered a great opportunity for liberals to showcase how 'progressive' and 'not racist' they are by repeatedly praising everything he did, which will become increasingly difficult depending on how much Obama knew about alleged FISA abuses and Russian interference.

As such, I'm very curious as to what the inspector general's report on alleged FISA abuses will entail and if the DOJ will act upon his recommendation to conduct a criminal investigation into McCabe who has already agreed to testify in exchange for immunity.

He wasn't perfect, true, and I had my reservations about him, especially back in my Republican days (how blind I was), but he was the last legitimate President of the United States. Now, we are a captive nation, prisoners of the minority of voters who used the Electoral College quirk in our Constitution to rob us of our freedom and hijack democracy to advance autocracy and plutocracy. We are now living under MINORITY RULE. And I don't mean that in the sense of minorities, but in the sense of the few ruling the many absolutely and more than ever since we expanded the vote.

Looking back at him, he's lost some of his luster to me. Now that my head's out of the political sand dune It'd been in before 2017 I find he was not as great a president as I used to blindly accept that he was.

Don't get me wrong. He's still was lightyears better at being the president than Trump is now.

Just now that I'm more knowledgeable about politics and the goings-on in Washington he seems a little too neo-liberal, and too much of a warmonger, and too much a friend to corporations rather than a friend to the little guy, and too afraid of the wrath of Fox news and the republicans to really fight or get around their policy of obstructionism at the time to get anything really worthwhile done.

Still what he did accomplish during his presidency was good, fantastic compared to the unmitigated shitshow in the white house now.
