Aussies! Check in here!

Afternoon all,

Ah it's Friday and the end of another week doing tasks, mainly going up and down ladders, my knees were not happy yesterday so taking a day off which seems a bit weird given that I'm retired.

Seems like the warm weather will be continuing for another month so the painting tasks will continue. Also discovered that more stuff is changing in the neighbourhood. More apartments are being built and the developers are kicking out two GP clinics and a vet to build these apartments that most people can't afford. Way to go council

And the road works continue to piss people off in Melbourne. I get the fact that we need to plan for the future but it's all happening at once which means total chaos in the city if you have to travel thru it. Peak hour now extends to most of the morning. No other way across the city unless you want to swim across the bay.

Well seems like Dutton has now managed to piss off the South Africans. He must be going thru his African phase. Wanting to jail black Africans and giving the white ones visas. Then I see on morning TV that two other intellectuals want to have another stolen generation and that it was a good thing the first time around. WTF.

I gave into buying hot cross buns yesterday even though it's not Easter. Not buying any Easter eggs this year. Still have some from last year. Not much of a plain chocolate fan, now Snickers that's different or those nougat eggs that last for a while then there is Rocky Road, yummo.

Hope your weekend goes well.

Dutton is an arsehat and an embarrassment to decent Australian. Aside from his blatant hypocrisy on the subject of asylum seekers, read this and you'll understand why the South Africans are pissed.

Hmmmm... Literotica is hardly reliable. Have you bothered to verify the original source? ;):D

That would be ideal of course, sadly WA is so very far away... it’s a qualified verification at this stage. Any proposals for submission to full accreditation welcomed :D

Good morning, Aussies!

Apologies for being absent - I have had many, many things on my plate.

Firstly... I have my Mum visiting from WA. She's here for 3 weeks, which means I am in "entertainment mode'. Have to keep her busy, or she'll start to reorganise my house and then not only will I not be able to find anything, but because she's a hoarder and I am a minimalist, there will be crap on every surface of my home! Can't have that or I'll end up with a constant headache :(

Also trying to get a small hobby/business set up. Just before Xmas I had the bright idea to move my indoor fish outside to a pond. Only issue - I am renting. So the pond had to be moveable, simple and cheap.
I ended up building a pond out of a large flowerpot - because I discovered you can't actually buy one of these anywhere in Tassie!
So now I am looking to build them myself, and sell at markets and online.
Something to bring in a few extra $.

Last week my daughter turned 23. This coming week I will be turning 50!!!
I don't feel 50.... I feel somewhere around 30-ish....
A milestone though, so my kidley beans have decided I need to celebrate (haven't had a party for my birthday since my 21st). Everyone has been asking what do I want?
In the end, after much thought, I have asked for time. Time spent all together as a family. So all my kids and grandkids we are going to the park if it isn't raining - the grandbabies can run around and play, we can put rugs under the trees and sip a glass of vino or two, have a picnic lunch, and just generally spend the day doing nothing but having conversation and time together
They think I am completely insane, because as my youngest put it "We're supposed to spoil you!" As if 'things' could ever replace time! *sigh*
I guess my kidlets will understand more as they get older.

Two weeks ago, I blew up the engine in my XD :(
I can't really complain - my Lily-car is 37 years old!
And just to make me feel a little better about killing her, she is now going to get a 5.8 clevo as a replacement :D
I am finally going to have another V8! It has been a few years since I owned one.... I will have to be uber-careful not to come to the attention of the local constabulary - something that won't be easy in a bright yellow V8 station wagon!

Busy few weekends ahead..... my birthday family get-together, then Easter, then Symmonds supercars racing....
I have followed the supercars for many years, and Symmonds will be the first time I see the new 6's on the track. I am still unsure as to whether the category will have the same excitement for me now.... I guess I will just have to wait and see on the day. This could end up being great for the sport, or it could end up signing the death warrant for us die-hard V8 fans.
Adelaide seemed to be ok, but everything is different live.

Anyway, that's all my news for the moment.
I really should make more of an effort to come in here and check - so I don't have to read back for a gazillion pages!

Stay safe and well xx
