Thank you. Excited about your new story? Seems like you put a lot of time and effort into it. Fast pace? I'd like to peek at it when you're done.

I'm excited. It's something I've wanted to do for a while. I started it last fall and worked on it for two months, but I made so many bad decisions that I deleted it all. I started over with a different idea after I submitted my Valentine's Day story.

There might be some beta-reading opportunities, but I'm not to that point yet. If you want to get a sense of where the story is coming from, you can read "The Third Ring" linked in my signature. Like "The Third Ring," this story (tentatively "Tamsin of Sky Village") was inspired by Native American story and legend, but placed in a SciFi context.

WARNING: "The Third Ring" is short, but it isn't an erotic story.

Making fresh coffee and refilling the kettle on my way by.

Have a good night, everyone.

Well, I managed to sleep for much of the night, so I guess thats a plus.
And the coffee is most welcome.

And it ain't rainin' !

Me, I slept an hour later than I meant to, bounced up, drank a pot of coffee, wrote 3k words and it's off to work now. The story is moving along, the call has come, the climatic battle is about to start. That, the troll capture and the grand finale sex scene is all that's left to write. Sorry about your basement, Tex.

Lucky this rain is pounding us pretty hard 😏. California... it sprinkles and there’s traffic for hours lol

It doesn't need to rain for there to be traffic for hours. LOL But the rain certainly makes things worse. Supposed to rain here in AZ tomorrow.

Uh, bright sun and mild. What can I say. If ya don't like the weather, wait a few minutes and it will change. Usually for the worse. That's Texas for ya.

Anywho, stay dry on the outside anyway. ;)

Fresh coffee and donuts are on the counter. Help thy self.

Chloe, basements come and basements go. As long as the building doesn't fall down around my ears.

A couple of new faces in the house are always welcome. The more the merrier.

Good morning to the intellectual crowd!

Large black, please, good sir.

It's moving up from 20º to perhaps 40º, if the weather forecasts are correct. More ice to be chipped, which a pain but my favorite springtime task.

They were still filming this morning. I think I'm lucky to go through that neighborhood early and late. It looks like they close off the streets in between. I have to wonder what they did to/for the homeless campers who are usually there.

I usually see two or three hot air balloons up on my way to work. This morning there were at least eight visible from my office, which is not a good balloon-viewing locale. They were all in the same small area, so someone must have had a flying event of some kind.

One large black coming up.

Uh... intellectual crowd? Are you sure you have the right place? A bunch of whacked out porn writers, sipping imaginary coffee, and talking about... Well, everything, more or less.

Who knew MP's blanket fort was a 105 howitzer emplacement in disguise? The things you learn as you go.

Well, Tex, look at what is not being discussed here:

- Politics
- Oprah
- Come to think of it, any daytime TV
- Justin Bieber. Heck, anybody whose face is on checkout aisle magazine stands
- The latest computer games or the latest smart phone

Collective IQ goes up by at least 5% with each 'omission'. There are some here with some 'issues' to be sure, but (specifically excepting myself 'cause I know better) I do believe that there is a link between intelligence and creativity.

There's a whisper that her 105mm was actually the 155mm version, but reports are still unconfirmed.
We're having a very cold windy blast from some giant 'fridge and it's cooling the ardour of just about everything and everyone.
May I have a nice, large, HOT coffee please?

I'll have you know MY coffee is NOT imaginary. It's right here and it'll put hairs on YOUR chest (not mine, she says, very virtuously). I'm used to it. A West Coast Dark Roast today. Rather nice and black as the ace of spades.

Nothing intellectual about my stories except for the subtle jokes. Not. I'm having fun with blessings from the Daily Llama right now.

One cuppa for HP. 105, 155, they both make a big boom.

TP, I didn't say this wasn't a smart crowd but... ;)

Chloe, If coffee put hair on a persons chest, I'd look like cousin It. :D

Ya'll play nice. I have some writing to do. Maybe lunch first.

So THAT's what he'd been having ?
Back in the day, a pal of mine was noted for being Very Hairy.
His chest was like a matted shag-pile carpet. (see here)

I tried some Java roast the other day. It was rather nice.

But it's time for tea now.

One cuppa tea coming up.

Fresh coffee and kettle for the evening crew is now ready.

Got a little writing done but not much. A friend from down the road wanted me to repair and old wooden chest. No problem. That is until my brad nailer decided to spit out its last nail. Looks like a shopping trip to Lowes in my near future.

Snow coming down.
No cuppa caffeine coming up.
Wouldn't be prudent.

Snow coming down.

No snow here. I took a walk this afternoon and left my jacket in the office. The sun's been down for a couple hours and it's still pleasant out.

It was nice today, probably not so much tomorrow. We're supposed to have the dry end of a Pacific cold front come through in the afternoon, which probably means a westerly: some cooling, west winds up to 50 mph, single-digit humidity, and blowing dust.

I wonder who's the idiot is who has upset the weather gods?
Whoever it is, I do wish they's pack it in. We've had bloody rain for the last three days; gentle, but bloody persistent.

Any coffee left in the pot, please ?

And you're where, sir? Rain's what it does there. Now, a fortnight ago your weather gods were annoyed; this week, it seems like they are trying to apologize and go back to normal.

(My UK rain story. I got posted to England, arriving New Year's Day. It was raining. As part of our in-brief, we were told there was a hosepipe (read 'garden hose' for N. Americanos) ban in place as England was in the middle of a drought and water reservoirs were at an all-time low. It rained every day that month - not sprinkled, rained. Poured. Non-stop, every day. Monsoon weather, water 2" deep on the roads for hours on end. And at the month's end, the ban was still in place. I started checking my British friends for gills. What do these guys want?)

I love England, but seeing a Brit complain about rain is like seeing somebody from Rio complain about sunshine. ;)

In any case, if you want to trade, there's another 4"+ of snow inbound here. Straight swap.

Straight swap? Not a hope !
At this time of year, a lot of rain is, to some extent, expected.
but we need it GENTLY applied, preferably during the hours orf darkness..
As I've never been to RIO, I'm unable to comment. . .
:)

At this time a hot coffee is indicated. . .

I hope everyone found the coffee. I'll make fresh.

Got caught up in putting notes down that came to me as I woke up this morning. That turned into writing and a little over 3400 words later, the story is finished. It needs a few days to marinate and then a little polishing.
