Accents You Find Sexy

Do you like specific types of American accents such as a Brooklyn accent, a New Jersey accent, a Pennsylvania accent, a Baltimore accent, a Midwest accent or a Southern accent?

Across the Atlantic in England does a standard, educated British accent do it for you or do you like some of the more distinct regional accents from England, such as Geordie, Liverpool, Birmingham or Cockney?

Do you have a particular liking of the distinctive accents of other English-speaking countries around the world such as Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa?

Or do you like the accents of people from non-English speaking backgrounds who are speaking English, such as Europeans and Asians?

Agree on Southern Irish, but the North Irish accent is much harder, much harsher.

People from New Zealand have said that there is a difference between the North Island (Aukland, Hamilton, Wellington) and South Island (Christchurch, Dunedin) accents, but despite being Australian and therefore having met a lot of New Zealanders, I can't tell the difference.

Mine is based in nostalgia, but I have a certain affinity for the lazy rumble of a good Cajun accent. Add in the occasional French turn of phrase, or the sudden lilt that tends to punctuate a statement being phrased as a question, and I feel like I'm 21 and experiencing absolute freedom for the first time all over again.

I've always been fond of a deep-south accent in women, and I don't mean that Texas twang. I once knew a young woman from Andalusia, Alabama who could sway me with a smile and a few soft words--even though I knew she was a bitch--a temperamental and often drunken bitch at that.

No. Huge turn off. But probably only because my dad's job transfered him to the deep south when I was old enough to resent leaving my friends. I grew to loathe southern accents and fled north as soon as I could. One of the biggest disappointments of my life was meeting Summer Glau and having her greet me with a twangy "How y'all doin'?"

Depends, but since I'm a Spanish speaker, I'm partial to certain Spanish-speaking accents. Love to hear a Mexican woman with a moderate accent speaking English; a Nicaraguan accent is quite unique with its lyrical quality; probably the sexiest-speaking Spanish-speaking woman to me is Colombian and Venezuelan a close second. I enjoy a Filipina speaking English in many cases, too. There are others under certain considerations, although I'd probably find most accents acceptable or even sexy if the woman is genuine and sweet (VERY few of those around these days though).

Really depends. Some British, some French, some Spanish, occasionally Southern. Generally do not like various East Coast type accents.

Being in the Netherlands, I tend to enjoy hearing Flemish. Apparently I'm one of the few who actually think that's sexy, but each to their own.

Also, Japanese people trying to speak English ... wonderful. Although apparently you need to have a certain exposure to Japanese in order to actually understand them, considering how me and my girlfriend were the only ones being able to understand our tourguide when we visited Japan.
