Kit10 Dahlin' c'mon ovah hyeh an have a julip with me. We'll compare cornbread recipe's and how d'ya feel about grits?

(Sorry Hecate you have to be Southern...which
I am ,at least halfway.)

Let's go over to the piano, maybe chopsticks are just what I need to listen too while I figure out another contest.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
I'll be away most of the day biut will most likely return this evening. Please come upo with you can and bring a cold plate from your feast.
I'll have the champagne cold and waiting.

Bring a plate, huh? Well, we haven't even begun yet, and I do believe I can wait until we do. Day started off shaking and has steadily progressed downhill from there. *sigh* I'll be honest with all here - I absolutely hate this holiday. Sometimes just wish it would go away entirely, and if I thought my boss wouldn't get too angry with me I'd be at work.

Oh well....

Let's something stronger than coffee right now, I should think. Yes, there it is, way in the back - that good old Tennessee bourbon just waiting for me. Pouring a neat 2 fingers, I question why anyone in their right mind would add coke to this! Yuck!

Curling up on the chaise lounge near the window, I sip my drink and look out at the scenery. Just stay here I guess until dinner is ready. I wonder if I can just skip dinner and wait for leftovers here?

Well, at least the champagne is chilling - ought to be great when combined with the bourbon.....

Chele there is melancholy to this day for me as well. The stars glitter in the cold dark night but there is light and warmth beneath the shaded lamp.

I don't think anyone else will be by tonight...
I'll keep one bottle chilled just in case.

Ah balieve they's only one way ta feel about grits, every Southerna knows that grits belong under a fresh pat a' butta, and they neva, neva come outta a box. Grit's outta a box is like buscuits outta a can. Whoeva heard a such??!! Mmmm, and don't get me started on 'conbread' ... I'm liable to neva hush up!!

*GRINS*

Evening all, hope everyone had an enjoyable meal. I brought left over pumpkin or pecan pie for those of you who skipped out on desert, and fresh ground hazelnut blend coffee for those of us who should have. Hmmm, come to think of it, a splash of that Tennessee bourbon just might add the right touch of flavor ... mind if I join ya Chele?

Kit10 you sure do know yore grits!

Chele is a California girl and I think in desperate need of a big slice of pecan pie and a jug of good white lightning.

(My God! What am I doing...Ariosto a hayseed!)

you know what they say...

about hillbilly girls don't ya Ari?

When the love they love with their whole heart, when they hug you they do it with their whole body, and when they have drained you dry...they feed you so you can regain your strength for round two.

Kisses,
Kit
raised in the mountains of West Virgina

PS
SuthrnKit, can you make creamed tomatoes & biscuts?

Hmmm ... creamed tomatoes? Not sure ... though breakfast this morning was sausage gravy, buscuits and home grown tomatoes. Does that count? :)

And I second that hillbilly girl information ... and raise you a Yeeeeehaaaaaaaaaa. ;-)

LMAO ... between the two of us and we both got biscuits wrong!! What would our relatives think!!!

Grrrits are grrreat!!!

I'm absolutely stuffed... but I believe I could make room for some warm pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. Coffee with that, and then kicking back in front of the fire with a tumbler of Wild Turkey. SuthrnKit, I'll take those grits in the morning with my eggs. I'm a northern boy by location, but my mom was born in Mississippi and that's why I can spell it so good. :)

Your relatives can spell? LOL Believe me Suthrn, if my relatives turn up here correct spelling is Not going to be my highest priority.

As for our Chele, we all want to be California girls! at least once in our lives. Aren't they all brainy and beautiful?

Ladies, I'll join you in having a drink. Mine however is vodka, on the rocks. See, I'm only half hillbilly, the other half is Russian, Mac calls me his White Russian Hillybilly.

*pulls lounger next to Chele and drops a kiss on the top of her head*

Just to let you know I'm around, Chele.

*leans back and looks at the starry sky and enjoys the smooth chill of the vodka*

OH my, I think the wind is singing Dixie!
Kit I never would have guessed it. West Virginia is it?
Cap, half southern is better than none. I'm a transplant myself but I hear Kit10 may be the genuine article.

O course there's a lot more to the South than
grits and white liquor....isn't there?
And what is about Southern girls with those honey eyes and low soft words that makes a man want to slay dragons for them!

Chele come on over I think we have enough dixieites here to make you an honorary Belle of the South.

It may be a nice night afterall.

LOL, good point Kit ... come to think of it, I doubt any of my relatives would catch it either. And I agree, I'd love to be a tall beautiful California girl just once ... you know, instead of a short sassy little Southerner ;)

Captain, I'm impressed ... I still have to sing the little song to remember how to spell Mississippi! And you're right, grits have no place on the supper table, they are strictly a breakfast addition.

*Batting her eyelashes and dropping her voice a notch* Ari, you wouldn't fight dragons fore little ole' me, would ya? *Grin*

LOL. Okay all, see what happens? Didn't I tell you I was incorrigible?

XOXO - Kit10

Of course I would! My lance is always ready.

All right I just got word that a new and strange painting has been delivered to the galerie érotique...I'm stumped. Anyone want to go down there and guess what's going on?

And with that I bid you adieu...

Oh..sorry...Y'all take care now, hyeh!

I slip quietly into the lounge. I always seem to arrive when everyone is gone. I smile at the remembrance of friends sharing drinks and company.

Today my melancholy has passed, though I am in the middle of a big project I'd rather not do, and there is no way around it! I pour a cup of coffee, and decide to take a break from this horrid thing I had promised I would do ~

My, it seems as though we have had a sudden influx of our neighbors from the Southern states! A place in our nation I've always wanted to visit and, as yet, have not. I guess each state has its own "flavor" and it is difficult to decide which state(s) to go to for that real sense of Southern hospitality.

But, now I have a question for you. I always thought "y'all" was spelled out as y'all. However, recently I have been told that this incorrect. (Now, how regional slang can be incorrect is beyond me!) I've been told that the correct spelling, and I suppose pronounciation, is "ya'll". Not a big difference, but to those of us out West, we are always being corrected. Anyone care to educate this California girl?

Well, I hope everyone either went jogging, walking, or hit the old treadmills to work off all that dinner from yesterday! LOL!!! And I suppose everyone is out shopping today! Or putting up Christmas decorations? It should be lovely tonight to take a walk - almost every house in the neighborhood will have lights up. *sigh* I don't celebrate Christmas, but I do so love the beauty of it all!

Well, my break is almost over, my task awaits. Alas, I thought it would take one day, and I think it shall take most of the weekend. Ah well...back to it then...

Nothing like a nine hour workday to get your turkey filled rear moving again. Mine has sure been hussling today! I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation among friends here on the roof a little later this evening, as for now I must venture out into the abyss of retail hell and purchase a few Xmas goodies.

As the the ya'll question, I always knew it as ya'll ... but then again, we haven't even got to the "you-ins" or "yonder" concept yet. :)
I'm also taking ideas on a good nickname ... just something to use among friends, because as Chele pointed out (and she's completely right) "Kit10" sort of reminds one of a cyborg. Any votes on "Belle" or additional suggestions?

I leave you all with one question, a request for advice really. Being the proud owner of a five month old Great Dane puppy, who is a constant source of affection and amusement, how do you suppose I can keep him from sticking the entire front half of his body in the dryer when I'm doing laundry?? He seems to be developing the same problem with the refrigerator!!:p

Alone again....the roof is quite, not surprising considering the late hour. I hoped to find some company, but like Chele, I have arrived too late.

Suthrn, I like Belle, but it makes me think of Walt Disney :D Who knew "Kit" would be such a popular name? Wish I could offer some advise about your puppy, but I'm a cat person and my limited experience with dogs won't do you much good.

Ari, you'll find that I am many things, but few that are expected. ;) I just hate being predictable.

Guess I'll call it a night.

Sweet dreams!

Kit

Good evening to all. I am a Denver girl, new to Lit, (but not to erotica) and catching on quickly. Wanted to drop by the Roof and look around, I am intrigued and excited for my new adventures. Hope to have a drink with some folks soon. Make mine a double tall, Greyhound.

Well, I stop in for a late night decaf, and find a new friend! Good evening, lasciviously_yours! Okay, well, if you don't mind, I shall call you "Las" - just too many letters!

Welcome to the Rooftop! It's quiet now - all of East Coasters have gone to bed, but I'll fix you that Greyhound and be glad to share a nighcap with you. Hmm...maybe a little Bailey's for my coffee?? Now, where did Ariosto put the grapefruit juice. Ah! Here it is!

So. I see you hail from the mile high city. Only breezed through a few times, but I've heard it is beautiful!

Hello Chele. You may, of course, call me Las.

Yes, Denver is beautiful. Big enough to get me into some "fun trouble" but yet, small enough to keep me out of the "not-so-fun trouble" !!

I am a true night owl and glad to find someone awake to share my drink with.

Well, I live in Southern Calif, have almost my entire life. Like the weather, but I long for a small town atmosphere sometimes. Well, okay, most times! :)

I can be known as a night owl myself, especially on the weekends when work does not beckon the next day. And there sometimes is the occasional wanderer in here when you least expect it!

I noticed in your intro that you have submitted a story to Lit? Congratulations! Was that just recently, or has it been published yet? I wouldn't be concerned about the length. My first story was very short - I was afraid no one would read it. But I got a lot of positive feedback from it. The second was longer, got better votes, but absolutely no feedback. Now THAT is frustrating! I mean, you want to hear something, hopefully good, but at least something.

Anyway, I wish you well on your story. You might want to consider putting a link to it in your sig line when it is published. After a while, the stories here get a bit buried, and it helps if people know where to look to find your story. (of course, you'll notice that I don't always practice what I preach! But I am working on it!)

**stretching with a wide yawn...** Remind me to ask Ari if I can bring my inflate-a-bed...long drive home in the wee hours !

Yes, I have just submitted my story this evening (yesterday evening !), so it has yet to be posted. I would welcome any feedback and will include a link as soon as available. I have been writing for just a few years, but have never submitted any work before. I am feeling especially brave this evening ! I considered pasting it here, but am unsure what the boundaries are as yet.

I am much looking forward to meeting the rest of "gang" as the dawn arrives.

Many thanks to Chele for her welcoming !

Good Morning!!!

*In strides Kit...stunningly beautiful in a long white skirt, split to mid thigh, and a bright red halter top. One hand carries a large towel-draped basket, the other a full brimmed straw hat.*

It's a bright beautiful morning here in Central Ohio!!!
*I make a special announcement about that because it isn't always the case.* :)

Las, welcome to the Rick's. Forget the inflate-a-bed, Ari let me put a cot just overthere under the palm. Some nights I just can't bear to go back to the RL. *extends hand* I'm Kit.

Colorado is a beautiful place Chele, you should spend some time there if you get a chance. I lived in Colorado Springs, with my ex (the Klingon) for about 18 months, it was wonderful.

*peeling back the towel reveals large golden brown muffins, still warm from the oven*

Ok, starting the coffee gang, get your butts moving! There are blueberry and cinnamon/pecan muffins. Eat up, some of you may need your strength later.
;)

Kisses to you All!!
I go forth to clean house! Look out dirt, here I come!!!!!!!!!!!

Kit

A bevy of beauties on theRoof all night long and I'm a bed with a sick headache, wouldn't you know!

Kit lemme have half a muffin and a cup of java, I have serious posting to do today.

Las welcome topside and Kit's right we have cots for every palm tree up here.

Belle is it? ...I think that will be just fine.

As for 'ya'll' Chele...I think it's ya'll.
The other day one of my students laid a triple on two others...
"Ya'll think ya'll will be bringing that back, just ya'll?"
This is college!...oh no!

Well any new topics for the day?

I'll check back.

Good muffins!

Good Morning !

**Big Yawn and a even bigger Grin**

Thank you Kit and Ari for the welcome. I normally would not post until the late night, but was very excited to come in and have morning coffee with you.

Kit, the straw hat is wonderful and the muffins even better.

I am pleased to hear of the cots, I think tonight, one of them might be fair game.

I am starting The Hanging of The Christmas Lights Project this beautiful Denver afternoon....hope to see all of you later !
