“Take the guns first. Go through due process second." - Trump, direct quote

FYP.

And, no

Lots of people thought Clinton would have their best interests at heart. Those people are gullible. If you didn't think she would have worked for you, then maybe you're less gullible than most.

We had the two least popular candidates in modern history go head-to-head. Of course we had a turd result from a shit sandwich.

Actual politics? What the hell are you talking about?

His political actions as POTUS.

What did you think I was talking about?

That's why most Dems did not vote for him.

Dems did not vote for him because (R) in front of his name.

And by the way, what the hell is a conservative? That has been redefined as somebody stupid enough to elect the Stable Genius and then make excuses for him for the past year.

Look it up.

No it hasn't...those are partisan Republicans, much closer to Democrats than conservatives or liberals.

^^^ right-fringe nutjob. Trump wants your guns.

Liberalism is right-fringe? LOL

Well he can't have them anymore than your sorry ass can.

What's the matter Rory, don't like having your idiotic bullshit thrown in your gullible face?

Tell us about the white privilege myth!! Tell us you think it's real sucker....

I predict he or more likely Huckie Boo Boo will walk it back within 48 hours, and six months from now deny he ever said what he is documented as saying.

He is conditioning people to become immune to the fact that he talks out of both sides of his mouth (not unlike AJ).

Called it.

The NRA demanded...and got...an audience with Trump. He cut his evening TV time to meet with them, and the NRA's chief lobbyist crowed immediately afterwards that Trump had seeeeeeen the light and there would be NO meaningful changes to existing gun policies.

I didn't think there would be, and I'm glad. It's much better than some half-assed useless token gesture. Now it's so much clearer and reinforces the #neveragain movement. You're doing NOTHING.

The more they dig in on this, the more this movement is not just going to sweep away the NRA but the whole rotten R Party.

Well, Mr. Trump...The last bunch that tried something like that...it didn't work out well.

That is WHY we have the second Amendment.

I think it is called "The shot heard around the world."

He didn't exactly walk back his wish to take away guns from people without due process.
Something Obama never tried or voiced a desire to do, despite righguide's BS claim.

The reason the Right wasn't up in arm's about his statement was that all the Trump kool-aid drinkers know that a good 75% of what Trump says is pure BS and he'll flipflop within days, if not hours.

:)Our forefathers were a helluva lot smarter than people give them credit for. Anyone who thinks differently is a damned fool.

But of course, we all know if it didn't happen on the internet it just ain't true.

They've taken the guns from this Gold Star family, and boy, are they pissed.

Mark Stowe said his grandson was talking big, and repeating what he had seen on the television show "South Park."

"This is the deal," he explained. "Someone at school asked him, 'Would you bring a gun to school?' Instead of answering the question, 'No, I wouldn't bring a gun to school,' He said, 'Oh, no, I wouldn't bring a gun to school, I'd just shoot up the school.'"

"He is 13. He's nonviolent. He's autistic. He watches stupid shows," Stowe said.

Police said the student the boy was talking to became alarmed and reported the incident to his parent, who called the police. The sheriff's office got a search warrant and went to the house at 4217 Desoto St. on Friday, where they found the boy home alone.

"In the home, a cache of weapons was found along with at least one ballistic vest, thousands of rounds of ammunition and at least one explosive device," Serier said, adding that some of the guns were not securely stored.
Unlocked weapons in an empty house except for a boy who talked about shooting up a school.

OK to confiscate or not?

Well, once they are there and under the circumstances an investigation is surley in order!

Explosive device? WTF is that? ...kinda vague.

Where was this and what are the laws?
Maplewood Minnesota.

Are there parts of the US where it would be OK to confiscate, and parts where it wouldn't?

Silence. Nobody seems to mind that this family had all of their weapons confiscated. They are clearly in the wrong by leaving their weapons unlocked and accessible to a child.

Yet they have managed to collect thousands of dollars for their defense fund. Who is paying them?
