High School Shooting In Florida

People should be free to make choices (remember that 'Freedom of Choice' USED to be something lefties were FOR), and the choice to buy, or not to buy insurance, or anything else for that matter, USED to be a right free people enjoyed. Not everyone needs insurance, and the belief that you know better than they do what is best for them is pure socialism run amok.

Lefties have NEVER been about free choice.

They fucking HATE that shit as well as any civil rights that put the individual over the collective.

They are about egalitarianism.

Thinking you know how to better micromanage others is not socialism.

That's called Republicanism.

Using state violence against the individual to remove economic individuality and opportunity to make more money or do better for yourself as opposed to serving the almighty collective is Socialism.

Definition of socialism
1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

My issue is with news reporters or top politicians like Rush Limbaugh who go on air as if they're authorities in such issues, and are teaching people erroneous things.

I don't blame the people who listen to their arguments and buy them, because how would they know? They don't work in those areas to know, just like child psychologists have no place teaching people about law, engineering or other stuff.

But those media personalities and politicians are unethical by pretending to be authorities in things that are not their domain, and by trying to manipolate and influence people.
If they want to do it right, they should bring health professionals on air to talk about these issues.

Glad you got my subtle 'stick in the eye' to the SJW crowd, and you're absolutely right in your synopsis, they have NEVER been about 'freedom of choice', they are simply control freaks who want to be the ones to decide for all what to do

Shut the fuck up, Dishrag.

That's why I say most Republicans are leftist. ;):D

...and it's why the Republican party should be careful embracing the exodus of maligned Democrats. The plague of RINO's is now in full crisis mode, and we saw them in full glory with the likes of Jeb Bush, Karl Rove, Chris Christie and Mitt Romney defying the will of the voters to enforce THEIR agenda fresh from the DNC talking points memo

Mass shootings are a hugely US thing but they are still a microscopic % of gun violence, even in the US.

Also that's because most of the mass shootings aren't reported and documented.

When asshole in the Congo, Burma or Colombia goes in slaughters a village and burns it to the ground nobody cares. It's not in your face.

Ever the insurance salesman.

What company do you work for?

that doesnt mean that the math dont add up and those countries are in the world so youre wrong

No, what I meant was in the line of:
For example, most serial killers have some sort of antisocial and or narcissistic personality disorder. And they experienced some early or present trauma, like this kid did.

But those are no excuse, particularly since a minimal no of people with those personality disorders or horrible life experience take it on others in That way.
And unfortunately people like that kid will be very hard, if not impossible to fix. Thinking that mental health professionals have a magic bullet for that sort of thing is erronous.

Since we have the most uninsured people in the 1st world, we wouldn't know if it's a solution or not. But we do know that it's a problem, and one that needs to be solved...

Even a total ban on guns will still have these people out there, sick, plotting and frustrated... you're not even getting at the core of the problem, you're just eating around the edges.

It sounds like you're just offering hopes and prayers.

I'm sure that will help.

Florida legislators need to create and pass, and its Governor needs to sign a law that allows a legit mental health Dr. and law enforcement to temporarily remove all weapons from the possession of any individual they concur is a threat to himself and/or others, until a judge can decide how long - or even if - that individual should be denied his unalienable right to keep and bear because of his interfering mental condition, those deniable periods also legislated along with further courses of action.

Everything I read points to the local community/law enforcement well aware of the murderer's mental issues and possessing weapons, but he never went far enough according to FL law for leo to actually - legally - deny him his natural right to keep and bear.

A mentally well, law-abiding person under the Constitution's jurisdiction shall never have her/his inalienable right to keep and bear arms infringed in any way...

...the mentally ill and tried & found guilty criminals are entirely different stories.

Cities, counties and States need to take this macabre opportunity to tighten their mental health & criminal codes up as far as keeping and bearing go.

Under such legislation, Cruz would've had ALL his weapons removed from his possession UNTIL he could prove to a court he deserved them back.

Alas, even then, totally self-irresponsible, murder-minded folks like him could've obtained a weapon(s) illegally, or simply killed maybe even more by driving a truck into a crowd of students, etc.

Nobody on Lit knows who I am or anything about my life. It's a pathetic exercise in group think to suggest you do. One insecure troll makes a false accusation and the rest of the group jumps on the bandwagon in faux triumph. The life of a follower, like you, is a pathology of weakness. Group think is a social phenomenon dependent on intellectual sloth, ie, lack of critical thinking skills. That helmet you wear is just one more obstacle preventing enlightenment. So, as hopeless as conversation with you is, it's probably time for you to get back to peeking under mom's sheets.

You openly admitted to being vetteman.

I don't know what the best solution is.

You might be right, in that it could difficult now to simply disarm people, once you opened Pandora's box.
It might well happen that they will only succed in disarming the good people, while gangs and potential criminals will still get guns via underground.
In saying that, it's unacceptable that semi-automatic and automatic rifles are readily available to the population.

But I also feel that they're trying to scapegoat the mentally ill in order to avoid discussions about guns. They should all be having an open discussion about All the issues.
In his discourse, Trump mentioned the word 'the mentally ill' several times, and not once the word 'guns'.

The problem of mentally unstable individuals obtaining and using weapons to commit crimes has been made exponentially worse by the insistence of equally unstable Liberals who wish to use the mental health system as a bludgeon to strip everyone of their Constitutional right to defend themselves. Just like Obama's weaponization of the IRS to go full scale Nixon on his Tea Party adversaries, so now the anti-gun zealots wish to weaponize the mental health system for the sake of leverage in their gun confiscation schemes. The possibility that such people can be released on society is every bit as threatening to a free society as are the active shooters themselves.

They aren't RINO's....when they comprise almost the entirety of the party they are the GOP standard.

Republican is almost synonymous with leftism at this point, just their brand of it.

They fucking LOVE government control over the means and markets. Their kinds of controls and welfare are GREAT!!!

No amount of money is too much for THEM to spend...

It's only bad when (D)'s do it....it's only spending the country into the gutter when Obama is doing it.

that doesnt mean that the math dont add up and those countries are in the world so youre wrong

No but it means your math is wrong because it's starting from a jacked point and ignoring the rest of the picture.

Those countries are in the world, and they have gun violence problems like we do. MOST of them far far worse than what we have in the US.

So pretty much all the guns......

Why is it unacceptable that they are available to the population?

Maybe we should ban broomsticks painted black, and outfitted with a cooling jacket too, because... that shit is SCARY!

Because, as I understand it:

A schoolkid with an automatic riffle is likely to do more damage before being apprehended.
And they are designed as assault weapons.
Not for defense in the case of a potential home invasion, or for target practice or hunting.

Goldwater and Reagan were aberrations the Rockefeller wing of the Republican party is back firmly in charge

Why am I having a really difficult time recalling the last time a school kid used an automatic weapon to kill anyone else?

You don't know anything at all about guns do you?

Because you have a weird obsession with something that violates the forum guidelines and never leave the basement.
