Examples...

"irresolute, vacillating imbecile."
"a monstrous usurpation, a criminal wrong, and an act of national suicide."
"the Orang-Outang (Orangutan) at the White House."
"imbecile in matter, disgusting in manner, have made us the laughing stock of the whole world."
"As to the politics of Washington, the most striking thing is the absence of personal loyalty to the President. It does not exist. He has no admirers, no enthusiastic supporters, none to bet on his head. If a Republican convention were to be held tomorrow, he would not get the vote of a State."

I figured it was historical. Nobody says Orang-Outang today unless they've been reading Poe.

Conservatives are such whiny little pissants. They can dish it out...

I've been trying to bring back "imbecile". It's such a useful word at times.

Gosh, maybe the Stable Genius and his followers need a safe space. I've heard Russia is a pretty good place for folks who want to suppress freedom of expression by the media.

..Lincoln Example

Trump deserves everything he gets.

LIBERTY means, do as you wish while respecting the liberties of others.
FREEDOM means, do what you wanna do and fuck the consequences.

The word FREEDOM occurs once in the US Constitution: Don't abridge FREEDOM of speech and the press. Therefore, you and the media are perfectly FREE to smear anyone you want.

But of course speech has consequences, which your FREE speech may provoke. FREEDOM also means "nothing left to lose". What have you got to lose by speaking truth to power?

Tromp calls the media, Dums, and anyone who doesn't lick his balls The Enemy. Well gee, your enemy's job is to bring you down. And Tromp sure sent out lots of hate in his campaign and during his term in office, hate that's mirrored back at him. Tough. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the White House.

PS: The smears were worse in the Adams-Jefferson campaign fight.

The media is enjoying taking pot shots at Trumo because they can. Anyone who insulted Obama was branded a racist so they couldn't.

But I love how the people who say they hate him like Colbert wouldn't have a damn career these days if he didn't have Trump material every show to get cheap laughs from the dimwitted liberals.

Trump calls the media the enemy of the american people and simpletons like laura lovescrap wonders why they don't like him. Laura seems a pretty stupid woman, then again what do I know? I'm new here.

Normally I wouldn't agree with all this but you're right about Colbert. He was tanking until he took on Trump. Don't know as he wouldn't have a career but his show sure as hell wouldn't be as popular.

Give us an example of the media taking a "pot shot" at Trump--like the way he constantly takes pot shots at people in his Tweets.

:a shot aimed unexpectedly or at random at someone or something with no chance of self-defense

Nahhh. American journalists have a long tradition of standing up to boorish bullies, and the Stable Genius consistently behaves like a boorish bully. Often they just report the things he says and does, but the Genius and his followers still respond like he is a victim of false reporting. He's a thin-skinned bully.

By the way, Stable Genius is his description of himself, not mine.

Obama was much more civilized and respectful of everyone. He did not tend to elicit as much venom from journalists and his peers, because he did not spew venom himself. I don't expect that the Stable Genius will ever learn that lesson.

That's what I don't get. Trump and crew whine for the press simply reporting his words and deeds as if they have some vendetta against him. Should they soft peddle it, put in euphemisms instead? He is unbelievably thin skinned. For someone that can dish it out, he sure can't take it.

Your post is a great source of irony. - Liam

I do have a point to all this. It's not that I want to stop free speech or draw any parallels between Lincoln and Trump. I want to illustrate that the American Press taking shots at the President has a long history. And not just that, all the savage criticism seems to have little effect on the overall public opinion of the President. The more savage the criticism, the more people tune them out and they end up just talking to the people that already agree with them. That has happen to CNN. They are just 'preaching to the choir'.

You're describing Fuckface McOrangeHair to a T.

Only other fuckfaces listen to him.

Yes, that is the classic paradox of a bully. I had an bully employee once who came into my office right after I was hired as a director. He was a big crew chief who weighed almost twice as much as I do. He marched into my office, cornered me, and sternly warned me about not changing his crew's routine.

I listened, gathered myself, and told him that if he ever tried to intimidate me again I would fire him and replace him with a new crew chief. He instantly changed from being a big imposing guy to looking like a 12-year-old boy who was just scolded by his father. He scurried out of my office and went straight to Human Resources to tell them that he had just been threatened by the new director. HR did not buy his story, and he characterized himself as a victim from then on. Eventually, he had to go, and his crew was grateful for his departure.

Overall, the media is doing their job with the Stable Genius. He is a bully, so people are standing up to him. That's exactly what is needed with a bully.

The media has turned into nothing more than cyber-bulllies. Nothing Trump says is repeated accurately. It's all twisted to brand him in the poorest light possible and then repeated as if it's a joke. Yet despite this, he's getting it done. As the economy shows.

I wonder what he could have done had the media and haters left him alone...

You're confusing the internet/blogosphere/late night entertainment with the American Press.

I'll pose the same question: when has CNN or any reputable media outlet taken a "shot" at the President? Give us an example of "nasty venom."

Have you ever seen the NY Times refer to him as anything other than Mr. Trump or the President? CNN? The WaPo? MSNBC?

They report on his behavior and fact-check him.

You're confusing the Press just doing its job with "savage criticism."

Taking "pot shots" at people is what TRUMP does. It's the very definition of bullying someone who cannot fight back. He's the most powerful person in the world. When he mocks and calls names and singles out Congressmen, teenagers, Union Leaders, or FBI Agents by name for whiny, nasty, attacks (laden with lies), THAT is the very definition of personal bullying.

Don't confuse that with the WaPo reporting that "White House Can't Explain Vetting Procedure" on its front page.

And FOX doesn't? Breitbart? Alex Jones? Get over it.
