I do not think that splitting families up and sending them back is a good thing. I think the gop has a serious shortage of any compassion at all... and that deporting a ton of people costs more in terms of money and misery than it's worth.

If you remember correctly, there were republicans that held out on this trainwreck and helped cause the shutdown.. and the last shutdown which was 25 billion worth was mainly headed by Ted Cruz. Think of how much could be done with the money wasted on them.

What they also want is to NOT have to be dealing with it again in 10, 20, 40 years and the only way that can happen is to secure the border.

As an aside, the government shutdown costs the taxpayer approx. $8 billion/week. A two week shutdown is 80% of the funding for the wall pissed away for no reason beyond the democrats demand for unrestricted illegal immigration.
