Shithead-in-Chief tweeted:

Reason I canceled my trip to London is that I am not a big fan of the Obama Administration having sold perhaps the best located and finest embassy in London for “peanuts,” only to build a new one in an off location for 1.2 billion dollars. Bad deal. Wanted me to cut ribbon-NO!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) Jan. 12, 2018

But the facts of the matter are:

- The old United States Embassy was deemed to be vulnerable to terrorist attacks by the military and intelligence communities.
- The decision for the new embassy was made during the administration of President George W. Bush.
- On its website the United States Embassy says that “the new London Embassy is funded entirely from the proceeds of sale of U.S. government properties in London.”

Sorry Draft Dodging Donnie - you get a Pants on Fire for this big lie.

He can't have it be seen that actual white people would be protesting him.... that would be unthinkable

He's supposed to visit the queen this year no? im not sure. he may prefer to wait for 1st visit that way.

My response to a similar thread on the Politics Board:

Whoever is President of the United States would be welcome for a state visit.

President Trump will get that because he represents ALL the people of the USA. There will be protests. Those will be against his administration's policies, not against America (except for a few assholes who live to protest against anything).

Yes, on an official state visit, POTUS will be received with official honor and courtesy. This may require his entourage be kept in strict isolation during their time in the UK. The unofficial reception is likely to be discourteous and dishonorable. I will not be surprised if no state visit occurs.

But the excuses! Why falsely blame Obama with a lie so instantly revealed? More casual falsehoods. This only confirms that anything Tromp utters must be considered false till proved otherwise. I see every denial as a confession.

Like Most People From Arseholeland He Hasnt Got A Passport?

The building in Grosvenor Sq has to be one of the ugliest buildings in London. Haven't seen the one in Nine Elms.

Not many would have turned out for Clinton either, but we wouldn't throw shit bombs at her.

May and the Mayor of London hate him and would probably orchestrate a bunch of drama that would disrupt his visit anyway. He's not liked in Britain so why go?

Not really.

Trump is detested, not as the leader of an administration or because he represents a set of policies. Not saying that people don't have objections to those too, but that's not the core of people's grievances.

The protests would mostly have been about Donald as a person. But because decent folks all over the world agree that he's a giant cunt.

You go because you’re supposedly the leader of the free world. He’s proving to be the same spoiled coward he’s always been.

You picked the right username.

No you don't. You go when it's in your country's best interest to do so.

He's not liked by anyone with half of a brain or better.

So you know he is a liar. Good boy.

Baby steps ...

Most of the promises he's made to America are coming true. He did lie when he said Apple would build I phones in the United States, however he's not as economically stupid as Obama was. But back to the point of the thread. What interest do we have in a visit to London right now? Two million Brits said they would join a protest against him and other leaders wanted to embarrass him with second rate treatment so why bother. Brits need to read their own papers:

Yeah, what interest could the American president have in visiting the US' closest ally?

None, when he's not wanted there. Best to wait until the Brits have more respect for the American people and who they elect to the presidency. We understand Britain is in transition. We understand London is run by a guy who hates America and is busy lobbying for bringing even more people who hate both you and us into your country. Frankly I think our Presidents should spend more time at home solving our own problems anyway. Let the State Department represent the country.
