Which is why liberalism and it's egalitarian views on civil rights and treatment under the law puts them left of libertarians and some conservative factions that think he with the biggest hat/gold pile etc. should be the ones deciding rights and who gets them.

But that's about as left as they get. Otherwise they are highly individualistic and capitalistic, far more so than your average Republican even.
