In the department of "making it all worthwhile"

I received word last night that a former mentor of mine has been given a major promotion. What makes this particularly special is that he had a rocky start to his career. A very bad first job situation and then some recent "problems" put that (well deserved) promotion at risk. Luckily, cooler heads (and bosses) prevailed.

This is the second such promotion to come down the alley for me this fall. And frankly, I have to keep in mind that in spite of the frustration I have in my current position, the opportunity for me to help younger people move forward in their career has never been greater.

Today, it was all worth it.
