The Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee hired Fusion GPS to dig up political dirt on Donald Trump as soon as Trump proved himself to be the Republican Party's inevitable presidential nominee. Fusion GPS then commissioned ex-British spy Christopher Steele to use his influence and connections as MI6's former Russia Desk boss to compile information about Trump from Russian resources. Steele's dossier is now infamous for it's notorious allegations, which all led to one simple collusion: that because of those allegations, the Russian's had compromised Trump, Trump thus being totally susceptible to their blackmail. When Steele completed his task, Fusion GPS started paying media members to begin both publishing its allegations and conclusion, and to actively promote the dossier's allegations and conclusion to their media contacts in general. That's when you began reading and hearing about all of it. Which was the exact intent.
At the same time, high-level U.S. "intelligence community" personalities like James Clapper started selling the now-equally infamous, "all17 intelligence agencies agree" mantra that Russia had unarguably meddled in the American presidential election of 2016. Steele's dossier and the U.S. "intelligence community" ruling, along with the American FBI already financially investing in Steele's dossier, too, led directly to FISA warrants being asked for and issued to begin the investigations that Robert Mueller is leading today.
Problem #1: the FBI, when questioned under oath before Congress conducting its own investigations, testifies that it cannot verify a single allegation Steele's dossier puts forth. The Department of Justice states that they concur: not a single Steele dossier allegation has been verified by them, either.
Problem #2: the FBI, which financially invested in Steele's dossier, the NSA and the CIA are the only 3 "intelligence community" assets which authored the "all 17 intelligence agencies agree" mantra (actually titled, "Accessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections" https://www.washingtonpost.com/apps...russian-activities-in-the-2016-election/2153/), released under the seal of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Tellingly, not one single agency of the 17 that make up America's "intelligence community" has been able to verify a single Steele dossier allegation, either.
However, everyday now the American public is learning how this entire despicable episode progressed in detail, the most disgusted Americans rightfully being the so-called rank and file of the federal agencies which are responsible for all of it. It's going to be a beautiful thing watching from now on how they start cleaning up the historic messes their politicized, deep state leaders - like the infamous liar Clapper - have made for them all.
And today, Steven F. Cohen, professor emeritus of Russian studies at Princeton University and New York University, a fluent Russian speaker who has assembled a scholarly career of Russian contacts that even Christopher Steele might be envious of, says that he's probably looked with detail into everything about this entire mess more than anyone else or, at worst, just as much as anyone else, and has found exactly two truths: 1) there is zero evidence of any sort of illegal Russian contact as far as Trump's presidential campaign and election are concerned, and 2) not a single Russian he knows can verify any degree of anything related to what this entire mess is supposed to be about.
Nothing.
