The Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee hired Fusion GPS to dig up political dirt on Donald Trump as soon as Trump proved himself to be the Republican Party's inevitable presidential nominee. Fusion GPS then commissioned ex-British spy Christopher Steele to use his influence and connections as MI6's former Russia Desk boss to compile information about Trump from Russian resources. Steele's dossier is now infamous for it's notorious allegations, which all led to one simple collusion: that because of those allegations, the Russian's had compromised Trump, Trump thus being totally susceptible to their blackmail. When Steele completed his task, Fusion GPS started paying media members to begin both publishing its allegations and conclusion, and to actively promote the dossier's allegations and conclusion to their media contacts in general. That's when you began reading and hearing about all of it. Which was the exact intent.

At the same time, high-level U.S. "intelligence community" personalities like James Clapper started selling the now-equally infamous, "all17 intelligence agencies agree" mantra that Russia had unarguably meddled in the American presidential election of 2016. Steele's dossier and the U.S. "intelligence community" ruling, along with the American FBI already financially investing in Steele's dossier, too, led directly to FISA warrants being asked for and issued to begin the investigations that Robert Mueller is leading today.

Problem #1: the FBI, when questioned under oath before Congress conducting its own investigations, testifies that it cannot verify a single allegation Steele's dossier puts forth. The Department of Justice states that they concur: not a single Steele dossier allegation has been verified by them, either.

Problem #2: the FBI, which financially invested in Steele's dossier, the NSA and the CIA are the only 3 "intelligence community" assets which authored the "all 17 intelligence agencies agree" mantra (actually titled, "Accessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections" https://www.washingtonpost.com/apps...russian-activities-in-the-2016-election/2153/), released under the seal of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Tellingly, not one single agency of the 17 that make up America's "intelligence community" has been able to verify a single Steele dossier allegation, either.

However, everyday now the American public is learning how this entire despicable episode progressed in detail, the most disgusted Americans rightfully being the so-called rank and file of the federal agencies which are responsible for all of it. It's going to be a beautiful thing watching from now on how they start cleaning up the historic messes their politicized, deep state leaders - like the infamous liar Clapper - have made for them all.

And today, Steven F. Cohen, professor emeritus of Russian studies at Princeton University and New York University, a fluent Russian speaker who has assembled a scholarly career of Russian contacts that even Christopher Steele might be envious of, says that he's probably looked with detail into everything about this entire mess more than anyone else or, at worst, just as much as anyone else, and has found exactly two truths: 1) there is zero evidence of any sort of illegal Russian contact as far as Trump's presidential campaign and election are concerned, and 2) not a single Russian he knows can verify any degree of anything related to what this entire mess is supposed to be about.

Nothing.

Well, that settles it then. :D

If you are convinced, then you should be comfortable just sitting back and watching now, right?

Problem is, Flynn and Tromp Jr and Papadoupalous have already admitted collusion, Gen Mattis agrees, the Russian defense minister and the US UN ambassador have declared that Russia is waging war on the US, and Tromp Sr has acted at Putin's bidding. Try again.

what? a putin fanboy said there was no collusion? well, that's that then.

is the sarcasm coming through right now? it's hard to tell.

Sarcasm is the only proper way to respond to his idiocracy.

Your logic is faulty. The Steele dossier only spoke to one possible motive for Trump and his campaign/administration to collude with the Russians. it's not even the only alleged motive. The existence of kompromat is hard to verify until it is actually used. Even if we start with the assumption that we have perfect information and it doesn't exist, the rest of your argument still falls apart.

Russia still has the motive to interfere in the US election with a body of evidence supporting allegations they did. They even have a track record of employing their information operations capability against our NATO allies. Prior to the US election, they've utilized it in support of their operations in Ukraine. Additionally, they've targeted internal political issues in the Baltic republics. Since the US election, they've targeted the French Presidential election. They didn't need Trump campaign or administration assistance to pull it off. The Steele dossier has no bearing on the issue of whether they interfered. Mixing the disagreements in the intelligence community about the dossier together with their assessment of Russian interference in the OP is at best wrong and at worst disingenuous. Russia had motive, opportunity, and a track record of interfering in the internal politics of NATO members. There's a body of evidence that points to them doing just that election. Steele being wrong doesn't change any of that.

It also doesn't mean there wasn't collusion with the Trump campaign in support of Russia's goals. Again, kompromat is only one possible motive for Trump. We don't have to even go into any of the sometimes tortured reasoning behind allegations of financial motives. Something like wanting to win a close race is also a pretty strong possible motive. Motive, opportunity, and some circumstantial evidence still exists even when we completely assume away the Steele dossier. Even a Trump political appointee thought there was sufficient evidence to support naming a special prosecutor to get to the bottom of the allegations.

You have just tainted every presidential election, past, present, or future with your logic. And by your own logic you can't avoid having tainted the Clinton campaign.

In point of fact you could make a much stronger case for Trump having colluded with the Israeli's than the Russians.

Not only are there many republicans who would be willing to elect a pedophile and even more willing to elect a man who proudly stated he will not uphold the US Constitution, they are willing to have as president a man who colluded with the Russians to alter the outcome of the 2016 election.

Survey just out showed, among Trump supporters, the majority of them still want him as president even if he assisted a foreign power in altering the outcome, in his favor, of the the election last year.

Yay, party before country!

Maybe Trump can out do the 138 Reagan administration officials that have been convicted, indicted, or had been subject of official investigations for official misconduct and/or criminal violations.

The only collusion will be proven to have been between the Democrats and the Russians. it's all about to come down. Wait for the IG's report.

I think he'll beat it. This is only his first year in office and look how it's gone so far.

The organised, concerted, effort to smear Mueller makes one think that someone pretty high up in the regime is worried about what will come out.

Trump said when he would start to lose it, when Mueller started going after the family's financials.

Maybe if he fills all of his empty posts. He's not having much luck there either.

True. However the ones he has are some real doozies. Yowza.

The organised, concerted, effort to smear Mueller makes one think that someone pretty high up in the regime is worried about what will come out.

Yup. It's really quite palpable. And the minions are swallowing it hook, line and sinker

We'll see.

Do you think Meuller should be fired?

As we speak, I don't have all the facts necessary to decide if Rosenstein should fire him or not. I know what's been reported. If it's true he exceeded the parameters of his charter to simply undermine or harm the Presidency, yes.

Personally, I think Rosenstein gave him parameters of investigation that amount to an open-ended investigation of Trump's entire life and those of his associates instead of just Russian "collusion" as was understood by the public.

To me, the Mueller investigation is an impeachment machine that would be in operation for the duration of the Trump administratioin, existing solely for the purpose of undermining the Trump agenda and preventing damage to the Obama legacy. I believe it was created to invent impeachable offenses that could be sold to an unsophisticated aspect of society who lacked understanding of the Constitution and ignorant of history.
