Mueller’s credibility problem

The Washington Post and the New York Times reported Saturday that a lead FBI investigator on the Mueller probe, Peter Strzok, was demoted this summer after it was discovered he’d sent anti- Trump texts to a mistress. As troubling, Mr. Mueller and the Justice Department kept this information from House investigators, despite Intelligence Committee subpoenas that would have exposed those texts. They also refused to answer questions about Mr. Strzok’s dismissal and refused to make him available for an interview.

Oh, and the woman with whom he supposedly exchanged anti-Trump texts, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, worked for both Mr. Mueller and deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe, who was accused of a conflict of interest in the Clinton probe when it came out that Clinton allies had donated to the political campaign of Mr. McCabe’s wife. The texts haven’t been publicly released, but it’s fair to assume their anti-Trump bias must be clear for Mr. Mueller to reassign such a senior agent.

All of this reinforces our doubts about Mr. Mueller’s ability to conduct a fair and credible probe of the FBI’s considerable part in the Russia-Trump drama. Mr. Mueller ran the bureau for 12 years and is fast friends with Mr. Comey, whose firing by Mr. Trump triggered his appointment as special counsel. The reluctance to cooperate with a congressional inquiry compounds doubts related to this clear conflict of interest.

Rather than opinion pieces, why not read some actual news?

Or, you know, continue be distracted by shiny things.

Perhaps you can correct the facts presented in those opinions, instead of just asking everyone to accept yours. PS your AV sucks.:(

He doesn't know the difference between fact and fiction. Another Trump University Alum.
And it's a funny opinion. Mueller ousted Peter Strzok some months ago because Strzok wasn't impartial, and that impugns Mueller's credibility? Wait, Mueller didn't announce the move! Umm, maybe because it was a personnel / HR issue which managers generally don't disclose or discuss publicly because policy?

A poster who calls himself FakeNews knows all about credibility problems.

Yeah, I'd go with that. And under the same rubric that Michael Flynn lying to the FBI and Vice President Pence about what he said to Russians does not make President Trump a liar about what he did or said with respect to Russians.

But you can't sell either proposition on a street corner if you were giving it away, can you?

I already knew that story was a German engineered lie. You're a bit behind. BTW, Andrew Weissmann, Mueller’s Legal Pit Bull, is in some shit now as well. Apparently emails have emerged of him praising Sally Yate's lawless action not to uphold Trump's totally legal travel ban (SCOTUS voted 7-2 in favor) saying he was in awe of her...more indications of Mueller's shitty judgment in picking credible staff who aren't politically compromised with bias.

I suppose you all believe Trump's lawyers about the subpoenas too?

So, you're not going to show us all of the evidence Mueller has seen?

Sad face emojii

That's not the one they allowed to go forward while legal challenges work their way through the lower courts.

From the link:

A U.S. official with knowledge of Mueller's probe said one reason for the subpoenas was to find out whether Deutsche Bank may have sold some of Trump’s mortgage or other loans to Russian state development bank VEB or other Russian banks that now are under U.S. and European Union sanctions.

"We would not comment on the existence of any such request, had one been received," responded a representative of Sberbank (SBER.MM).

Holding Trump debt, particularly if some of it was or is coming due, could potentially give Russian banks some leverage over Trump, especially if they are state-owned, said a second U.S. official familiar with Russian intelligence methods.

“One obvious question is why Trump and those around him expressed interest in improving relations with Russia as a top foreign policy priority, and whether or not any personal considerations played any part in that,” the second official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

A source close to Deutsche Bank said the bank had run checks on Trump’s financial dealings with Russia
