Are WebCam sites cheating?

So I was having a drink with some friends the other night and the subject of pornography and its prevalence in some relationships came up, now obviously some women think the very act of a man viewing pornographic materials online is a form of cheating but I think the majority are o.k. with it. The grey area that came up was WebCam sites, every woman at the table universally found this to be a form of cheating, the idea being that you are actively interacting with another human being to get your rocks off whether that person is touching you or not. I was wondering what other folks thought about that, so how about it - WebCams sites with paid ladies - harmless fun no worse than a strip club? or a valid reason for the woman to set fire to your clothes on the lawn?

It's entirely up to the partner in question. There's no universal rule of what violates their trust and causes them emotional pain if they find out.

In MY mind, activly participating with someone other then your partner in a sexual way is cheating, unless its agreed upon beforehand. Doesn't matter if its on a webcam show or real life.

Certainly, everyone has a different definition as to what is or is not cheating. Here's a question to ask your female friends: How often do they masturbate? I bet it is far less than their male partners Phone sex and camming are masturbatory tools. Wellllll all I'll say to this is that strip clubs were apparently fine if my husband was the one going, but the moment a girlfriend invited me to a male show with her and I accepted, someone suddenly took a very, VERY different stance.

I would say it's cheating depending on what's going on while on cam. If it's just watching someone strip then I wouldn't say that's cheating. That's the equivalent of watching dancers in a strip club. It crosses the line when /if any mutual masturbation starts. To me that's the same as actually screwing.

I don't think it's worth ending your marriage for. Especially if children are affected.
