Ah, time for a cup of tea, I think
I'm having trouble with this bally story; might finish it in time for next year. . . .

Your second story made it up in under 24 hours? I have a story pending (untouched pending) from the 16th to the 23rd, with 2 unanswered emails, so I took it down and resubmitted. Today is the 9th day on the pending cycle. Huh.

Contest stories can go up in hours--even if you aren't pushing a deadline. The downside is that while the contest occupies Laurel's time, other posts get slowed down.

And there are other considerations. It's hard to even guess at what goes on behind the scenes.

My penultimate post (a chapter submitted near the end of September) was pending for five days. I had the next chapter ready to go and submitted it the day before the penultimate story published. Laurel put that chapter out in two days. The result was that after waiting for awhile, the two chapters came out on successive days. <shrug>

Time for some strawberry-rhubarb pie, a scoop of icy vanilla-bean confection, and a cuppa depresso (decaf espresso) as I face the late evening and my fate. Next week's med tests require 48 hours abstinence from anything caffeine-like: decaf, cocoa, tea, Reeses Pieces, Bufferin, oh the agony... so I'd better pre-load. Or torture myself with coffee incense.

Stories just haven't been oozing out of me. Turns our I have a medical excuse, and upcoming treatments might revive the voices in my head. Yeah, just inject the magic coffee right into my voices, wake them up again.

Good luck on the tests and my condolences on the lack of caffeine. Torture of the highest kind.

Thant being said, a fresh pot for the midnight crew. I think a shower is called for and then the bed. There has been a whole lot of writing going on today.

Housemate got so bored, she went down to the houseguests place. What went on I haven't asked but they both returned a little after five with beef enchiladas, Mexican rice, and a big salad. I'm stuffed. :)

I think the plan was to get me that way so I'd leave the keyboard alone. It didn't work. I went back to pounding the poor thing within and inch of its life. :eek:

Hasn't "pounding the pour thing" been a community effort for a while now?

I understand Texans can take a good pounding and just come right back for more....

I got home yesterday afternoon and did the zombie out thing instantaneously. Fast asleep and just woke up. That was some mini writing marathon.

Well, rather to everyone's amazement, we got Sunshine !
And there are flowers to be seen, as well as the usual Autumn colours.

But for now - coffee.

I left my travel mug at the office yesterday, so I had to use my wife's Corkcicle this morning. It's WAY better than mine--so what if it's pink. It held the heat so well that the coffee stayed undrinkable until I got to the office, took the lid off, and let it cool.

Afternooner lady. :rose::kiss:

I'm so far behind today it ain't funny.

Hey, Tx. :rose::kiss:

I started the day at the doctor's office. It appears I did too much stretching while redoing the décor above the kitchen cabinets. :rolleyes: I pulled the muscles in my ribcage area -- on both sides.

Ouch! That must make everything hurt.

About the same here. Mine was just pure clumsiness, I tripped over the ottoman on the way to make coffee this morning. I hate it when that thing decides to take a walk around during the night. Three cracked ribs and a dislocated left shoulder.

The Houseguest is a retired RN so I was in luck there. She drove me in to the VA horsepital. They xrayed me from head to heals, relocated the shoulder back to normal, and taped up the ribs with this elastic bandage that is way too tight according to me and not tight enough according to them.

Now I'm at the mercy of the houseguest in one direction and on the verge of being smothered with sympathy from the Housemate. :) Talk about your proverbial rock and a soft spot.

Evening, folks. :rose: Long day of training. Gonna try for some editing before bedtime. I've been pleasantly surprised, reading back over what I wrote on this novel a couple years ago.

I don't watch many movies but i just watched one I have to recommend to any and all. "Meagan Leavey" It is based on a true story of a girl and her dog. A bomb sniffing dog.

No, I am not crying. I have something in my eye. :eek:
