I hope that works out for you--1056 words every day seems like a lot to me.

Actually that is a rough average. A thousand words a day is my goal but it usually ends up more, sometimes, much more. These novels are aimed at early teens and I find them very easy to write. My daughter says it's my second childhood but I have news for her, I'm not through with the first one yet. :D

Hang in there HP. Think of it this way, you have all year to polish this years submission for next year. ;)

If it was a Technical Manual or something, I'd not have many problems with it, I think.
The question is, does the Bad Guy get his comeuppance sooner or later?.

But this story started last year. . . . .
It' s a two-tea problem, I think
:)

Last year? I've still got some started fifteen years ago...

Well, I was only 13, there was nothing to report about the nights. I read past my bedtime, that's about it.

Lol. That was me except it was my Mom's romance novels and some of them were pretty risqué. I never did click about internet porn until I was a lot older.... oh well

The Internet hadn't been invented when I was thirteen. Hell, computers smaller than entire rooms hadn't been invented when I was thirteen! When I went to college, we were still using punch cards.

For reasons I cannot fathom, though, I seem to be on a roll. We'll see how long that lasts.

There was no internet when I was 13. Oddly, my bachelor uncle had a big collection of "historical novels," which were usually bodice rippers. My grandmother had some too. I read a few when we visited, but I was more interested in walking about. The air--and the view--on the top of a hill in eastern Wyoming can be invigorating. Combine that with some interesting rocks, and bodice rippers weren't really competitive.

Same for me. My romance novels involved romance rather than sex. I loved Zane Grey and Emilie Loring.

Well, my romance novels were a wild mix. Everything from Georgette Heyer (mine, all mine coz mom never got Georgette Heyer at all) to all the Harlequin / Mills and Boon stuff with everything in between. Plus lots of science fantasy / fiction and a whole bunch of historical novels.

There was no internet when I was 13.
There was no consumer safety when I was 13, nor barely FM radio. Closest thangs to the internet were mimeo-samizdat postal rings and fanzines, amateur radio relays, behind-the-counter dirty magazines, signpost graffiti, and spy 'numbers' broadcast on odd bands. You listened to shortwave to sense the world.

When I was 13: Most TV was black-and-white. Most programming was three national networks and a gaggle of Los Angeles stations playing old cartoons, local talent, and monster movies. 'Freedom' was an adult library card and the run of the stacks. Networking meant sending postcards to pen-pals worldwide.

No internet. No phone attachments. No CB radio. How did we get by?

Rather successfully, I thought at the time. Admittedly I was a bookworm of a cub so more adventurous activities were a bit of a puzzle.

Gosh, three 'news' and three 'hots' in three stories. The readership really must miss Terry Pratchett if they accept my feeble offerings so eagerly.

Very true

Morning all. Yeah, I know, barely. This is not getting to be a habit. This morning it was the Internets fault. I was up and out of bed early only to find Lit was down and then my internet was down.

Writing time! Yes, there is life with no internet. I finished off the chapter I was working on, reread it and made a few changes, junked a few weak word, and tossed out some kind of a dangling something or other. (No Martha, not one of them type danglers.)

I leaned back, closed my eyes to do a little thinking and... No, I didn't take a nap. I ended up with around 4500 words total. I could do more but just coffee for breakfast is catching up with my stomach.

More coffee, lunch, and back to writing? I wonder where the housemate wandered off to? If she's back in bed, I know what I'm having for lunch.

A totally quiet day here? What happened? I've been doing the zombie thing at work and my 2nd Halloween story made it up. Omg it needs a cleanup! But it made it in.. a lovely little romance....

Your second story made it up in under 24 hours? I have a story pending (untouched pending) from the 16th to the 23rd, with 2 unanswered emails, so I took it down and resubmitted. Today is the 9th day on the pending cycle. Huh.

Well it was for the Halloween contest and submissions closed last night at midnight EST. I got it in at 11.40 EST. And it was up early this afternoon but I'm sure that was just a contest thing. There were probably a few more stories last night, not just mine.
