There is no need for you to be. I have a friend that I don't see often. She had put on some weight between our last meeting, and she was feeling like you are now. She even avoided seeing some other friends because of it.
A real friend, a wonderful person, will be so happy to see you, just as you are. I'd have been so mad if my friend avoided me the way she did some others. Sometimes, you don't get another chance.
