Around here, DuPont has a special kind of Hell. You work A shift this week, B shift next week, and then C shift the third week. Then you have a couple of days off and then start it all over again.


You never get used to anything. Word is, they have high rates of divorce and alcoholism.

one place I worked at had 5-week rotations and allowed those who wanted it to work straight afternoon shift. I miss that job, it was non-union but the bosses were great, they used incentives to meet quotas and keep attendance high, and they had programs in place to help those who wanted to go back to school. Sometimes a good boss can make all the difference and the big places may pay better but that doesn't make them better places to work.
